Actually I think it's pretty clear that it what you're calling mutual reception is in fact not mutual reception according to many other astrological sources (Abu Mashar, al Qabisi, & others). There is also the point that all of your named sources, except maybe for Lilly, are rather deviant with... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Mutual reception: is that good? No, but I do think it helps put the lie to the idea of The Tradition(TM). Feel free to ignore the astrologers of the tradition who accepted and used the principle in your own practice, GR. But when it comes to a discussion in a public forum like this, we are all expected to provide arguments and do... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Mutual reception: is that good? The same chart would be approached and interpreted in different ways by different astrologers. The fact remains that Morin used mutual reception without an aspect in his interpretation. Why do we have to analyze it so much? Discrediting Morin or his analysis will not provide us with anything valuabl... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Mutual reception: is that good? And I have to split hairs again. No, you don't Olivia. I've read your previous posts and the reception debate and I am familiar with the concept of reception and its variants (generosity, liberality etc). Different authors used different terms to describe the same thing. But the basic principle rem... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Mutual reception: is that good? @Astrojin: gravity is what makes the planets go round. I know it's hard for some to understand, but please ...try! :-) As for the reception issue and whether mutual reception without an aspect is mutual reception or generosity: I really don't understand why we have to use different terms for the sam... @Eddy, Yuzuru, astrojin: "Gravitation, or gravity, is a natural phenomenon by which physical bodies attract with a force proportional to their mass. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitation Need I say more? Instead of rejecting it outright, try to understand what I said. It's quite simpl... Concerning the concept of pushing: I don't understand how it's relevant to the reception issue. Pushing is the law of gravity applied to astrology and interpreted in astrologically meaningful terms, is it not? Lilly mentions this principle several times in CA (the slower planet, the more ponderous p... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Mutual reception: is that good? I wonder if much of the "debate" on reception is even necessary. To divide it up into reception, disposition, generosity, etc is hair splitting in the extreme. One planet influences the other. If there is an aspect, it influences it even more. If it is mutual they influence each other. Th... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Mutual reception: is that good? Re: Mutual reception: is that good? What I want to say in a nutshell is that reception is a positive thing between planets in a good houses (now putting aside celestial dignities) Otherwise, the reception may be harmful. I guess that depends on the zodiacal state of the planets involved. You cannot leave essential dignities outside o... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Mutual reception: is that good? Horary charts can be used to answer such questions, but it's always better to use the natal chart instead, for this kind of thing. Forum: Horary & Electional Astrology Topic: Will I ever get married and when will that happend? Replies: 5 Views: 5640 Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:54 pm Jump to post
I never said that Saturn changing direction would show her not retiring, I meant to say this would likely show when she will be because this is when Saturn is changing direction to a different situation. OK, it is clear now. When you said that "the direct movement in the middle of the year wil... Forum: Horary & Electional Astrology Topic: Job in Europe?
