Hello:

I couldn't care less if others have mental illnesses, as long as they don't bug me, personally, and or attack me with silly, defamatory postings. There are certain animals in the jungle, like the lion and the cobra, that you don't want to p*ss off, and I am like them.

I miss modern books on this subject.

PS: Disregarding the public recognition we may want to obtain, which I know is the 10th house.
I would put social connections of these kind as the 11th house personally, with emphasis on communication one to one with a particular person (PMs etc.) as being 7th and 3rd.

But really social networks are as much about portraying a particular image of oneself often to gain recognition in some way and so quite often people in practice ask questions about social media as just a modern way of asking about promoting one's standing in the world or recognition or ability to influence and I would put those things as the 10th.

The mentally ill, though, do have every to be passionate or obsessed about astrology, just as the mentally well are passionate?

Obsession is only a danger, in my view, if your overall life success is being sacrificed or limited by it.

For example, say you are unemployed, living on the streets, and or underemployed and have bleak prospects for the future, yet, you come on here and post for no good reason, or post excessively.

Anything in excess is actually not good, and contrary to your own dharma and why you are on this physical plane to begin with.

Therefore, pursue one goal, whatsover. But, first determine, what is the goal.

Regarding Part of Fortune, I wonder. Is this person a double agent, posing as another name on this site ? You can tell they are not as they seem.

Please remember the number one rule of this forum is to be respectful to your fellow posters - that includes the moderators who are normally posters first and foremost and it includes Part of Fortune as well. Please stick to the topic and a good rule of thumb is to ask yourself whether your post examines the topic and has insight or comments about that topic, or whether it examines another poster or individual, and if the latter, recognise that this isn't what the skyscript site was intended for and it would be better to get back to discussing astrology rather than one another.

Moderating skyscript is a labour of love for which none of the moderator teams are paid. I am a little unclear however why you would want me to answer your personal messages when I'm "prejudiced in every respect".

As it happens, most of what I'm doing for skyscript at the moment is a little bit 'behind the scenes', and at the same time I'm working full time, seeing astrology clients part time, and doing a second master's degree part time after working full time - so I'm sure you can understand my time is just a little bit tight at the moment. If there was some pressing issue you feel I missed, please PM me.

Good point, Paul, and welcome back ! Networking as a means of self-promotion and or personal position in the community is indeed, a 10th house theme.

However, we must remember, though, that people socialize or network for different reasons, not always related to one's career.

Also, as the western population demographic ages, the focus shifts from career (10th house) to volunteering and community service (11th house, 12th house).

I used to work as a promoter of astrology events and seminars for big named stars of astrology.

Many people told me they went to astrology seminars and meet ups, not for their own career advancement, but simply because they are bored and just want to meet someone different ?

To be honest, I come to astrology forums like these to meet odd type characters that I would not necessarily meet on the street.

It is intellectual stimulation, I guess, in keeping with my natal Mercury in the 11th house.

Regarding the straying from topics, I do agree that it's a problem, but raising previous dirt is not really the answer, either.

All in all, the straying from topics issue is wide-spread at many forums, (not just this one) and it is probably a lot worse at other sites that I have been on.

If I have a future beef, I will let you know.

Actually I didn't just have career in mind here, sometimes social standing is a 'currency' enough for many people. There is something about social media that allows a medium for some people to live their own lives vicariously through hashtags and filtered lenses - I'm sure we can all think of people who live a distorted version of themselves through social media and it seems to fuel or feed some perhaps under acknowledged or under represented parts of themselves that don't get attention offline.

So consider the kind of person who lives through instagram posts about how amazing and fabulous their life is. Even putting aside career benefits, this is equally about promoting themselves and establishing or attempting to establish a kind of projection of who they are as well as to promote their own social standing.

Of course I don't necessarily agree that skyscript really fits the mould for a social network, as much as it is a small community of thinkers/amateurs/hobbyists/professionals who share enthusiasm for a very niche interest. Really skyscript, unlike other astrology sites, has always tended to attract a more erudite audience of people who are deeply interested and committed to studying astrology and so I'm not sure I would see it in the same light as something like facebook for example

We recently learned in the news media that an analytics business used facebook to poach the personal data of some 50 million people and that a Canadian man (a Sun in Scorpion, how fitting?) was hired to do the dirty deed ! Privacy experts around the world have now expressed major concerns about Cambridge Analytica and their unlawful usage of personal data, since harvested by Trump's last political campaign and gawd knows what else !

I explained earlier in this post about the internet being a "12th house" entity of deception and I believe that "internet social networking" must still be seen as a 12th house vehicle.

The evidence is clearly there.

https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/m ... s-election

On a completely different, but related topic, many years ago, I was offered a job, years ago, with a local company selling knives ! (probably ruled by Mars, no ? LOL) I quit the job upon learning that the supervisor wanted access to every trainee's facebook account, so that HE could steal our personal contacts to sell knives for his own business.

So, how's that for being stabbed in the back ? (pardon the pun).

You don't even have to go on the internet to get your friend's identity, stolen, anymore !

There are thieves, EVERYWHERE, so beware !

Would you call a job 12th house too then, since this happened at work? A person having the energy of the 12th doesn't make the area in which they interact become the 12th. The internet is many things and certainly not just deception. You can find 12th house people in any area of life.

This will be my last post to you on this subject.

One thing that we are learning about you, Tanit3333, is that you only want to see what you want to see in a person's post, and that you skate around that which is not important to you, but is certainly important to millions of others ?

I wonder. Is that your angular natal Pluto, at work, or just another planet that we aren't aware of ? I see selfishness as part of your makeup.

So, what about the recent Analytica debacle and the mass theft of millions of people's personal data without their permission. Is that not a blatant 12th house matter, or do you not care ?

I'm not sure where you live, but where I live, the government is investigating not only Facebook, but Analytica Data Corp. as well, for the stealing of personal data which our privacy commissioner takes very seriously.

In any event, the internet is many things, agreed, but not all of it is that good.

I have had trolls visit my not for profit websites, over the years, harassing me with persistent, rude emails, stealing my personal photos and copyrighted graphics, without my written permission, sending me photoshopped pornographic scenes with my personal likeness on it and things that my local police department have had to investigate.

So, yeah, my response to people who harass me, willfully, is you won't get away with it.

Call subjects whatever house you want to, you are free to do so. I skate around things because I have a full time career with daily overtime and am a graduate student.

Always a pleasure!

Hello everyone,
First of all, thank you to everyone who answered me! I analyzed each answer. Sorry for the delay in posting a reply to this topic and also for not answer everybody!

I have been doing an analysis and I have chosen 10 famous influencers, including famous companies and bloggers / vloguers. I focused more at houses and planets which you all quoted and those are my conclusions:

- I didn't find any relation between Sun and the houses / elements, and the two 'coincidences' were 2 accounts with Sun in Scorpio and 3 of 10 in 9th House

- 4 of them had Ascendant in fire sign. 3/10 in Leo.
- 3 with Moon in Leo
- 4 with Moon in 12th House.
- The Ruler of the houses seemed not to have any connection.

What had drawn my attention was "Sun conjunction Mercury" :o (4 times at all) and when that doesn't happen, there's Jupiter in conjunction with some planet (Mercury appears twice).
- Moon in House 3 is also common.

I think Mercury and Moon are the keys for my question! :D

36
Very interesting survey, Miss Watson.

Moon, Mercury, and the Third house, indeed. However, several (four) had Moon in Leo, in the 12th house, you say.

So, that goes back to my theory.

I have SP and SA Moon in Leo, both in the natal 12th house, btw. One will be leaving the 12th house, real soon.

Maybe that would explain, the dustup that I recently had with ppl from this very thread ! LOL

Thanks, again, for contributing.
