A good job chart: the importance of the Moon's next aspect

1
Happy 2023.

I cast this chart last August for a friend about a promotion. (August 10, 2022. Hong Kong. 10:04 am.)

I told the querent then the matter was very promising.

I just heard from him today. He was promoted to the position he asked me about.

I practice a rule: if the Moon's next aspect is good, the outcome will be, too. It doesn't matter what houses those planets rule although they would most likely be relevant.

"Good" means dignified planet in trine, or conjunction, or sextile with strong reception. If either planets is damaged or the aspect is hard, there has to be strong reception by domicile, exaltation or term plus face.

This chart seems to support my practice.

Another good testimony is that the querent is right on the MC.

If one placed houses above the Moon's testimony, this chart would not have been positive. The Moon that rules the MC (the job) goes to the Mars. And this Mars does not rule the ascendant. It rules the querent's enemies (the 7th house).

But the querent did get the job in the end.

I just honestly didn't see that he had to wait this long! Perhaps Mars being in detriment and a weak house mattered.

I am aware of the saying that "a chart speaks to its astrologer", first and foremost. I hope I am not missing anything in saying that this chart seems to support my practice.

Cheers.

Hello Amelia,

Good point. The way I see it is that the aspect describes the outcome and the reception whether you feel comfortable with it.
The trine to MA seems a positive here.
MA in the exaltation of the MO and rulership of VE (his significators). And MA is the Almuten of the 4th (end-of-the matter).
I just honestly didn't see that he had to wait this long! Perhaps Mars being in detriment and a weak house mattered.
Moon in Capricorn - ruled by Saturn R

FOR on the cusp of the 6th in trine to the MC and sextile MO is another positive.
MO in detriment counter to Sect (Day chart) raises the question whether he will feel 'at home' in his position. Might be hard to get a sense of 'belonging' with this company.

Best to you Amelia,
Ouranos
Blessings!

Hi Amelia,

I really appreciate you sharing the insights to this career chart as I've been analyzing quite a few profession oriented charts lately.

I'm quite surprised that the moon in detriment in Capricorn is able to achieve a positive outcome to the chart although Venus is sitting in the 10th house.
Thank you!
WJ

My understanding of Bonatti is that strong reception cures lack of planetary dignity or at least helps tremendously.

Moon is in detriment but her immediate next aspect (the Mars) receives her by exaltation. Meanwhile, Mars is himself in detriment, but Moon also receives him by exaltation. So, there is mutual, strong reception. It is also a nice trine.

This actually echos reality. The new boss, out of new operational needs, is desperate (in detriment) for the querent to assume his new post asap. The querent likewise can't wait to leave his current post!

Ouranos: I am waiting to see if he would be "at home" at his new job. Will report back.

Lovely to hear from you guys.

Cheers.

Update: the querent's new supervisor will be away to second in another department so the querent will be shouldering lots of extra work, starting next month. His team will soon be severely understaffed due to some earlier bad planning. Also, some teammates are incompetent.

He still feels a strong sense of belonging to the job itself, but certainly not to the set-up right now! He is certainly less at home that he thought he'd be!

I suppose you were right, Ouranos.

Thank you for the update Amelia!

In "Aphorisms and Considerations for a better judgment of any Hourly Question" by William Lilly, available on Skyscript

Aphorism #5

"Paying special attention to the strength or weakness of the Moon, and it is much better that it is the ruler of the ascendant to be unfortunate than she, because she brings us the strength and virtue of all other planets, and of one planet to the other."
Blessings!

Amelia, do I understand correctly that the querent is not yet working in
her new position?

And please, could you report on something that's going on behind the
scenes in the past and up to now?

Thanks in advance!

You are quoting my comment from 23 February. The new job started on 1 March and therefore I gave the update as promised on 23 March.

As to background story, I'm not sure what you are looking for. Let me see. The querent has had great reference letters from all his former supervisors. Someone on the promotion panel had already "clicked" with him before the interview and they had almost co-authored a paper. Lastly, the director of the promotion panel was very impressed with his interview performance.

There was administrative delay of almost half a year, between the interview and the actual promotion.

With this promotion, he is joining a new team.

Thank you for the clarification, Amelia.

I wrongly quoted your comment of 23 February, because I had in mind your
update of 23 March
the querent's new supervisor will be away to second in another department so the querent will be shouldering lots of extra work, starting next month.
Which update I understood (after all these delays) that his work on the
whole would start not before the next month, vic. April.

So my understanding was that he was (and is) not working yet on the
new position, which understanding is obviously wrong, because he is
alreading working there.
