it appears that he is born close to a new moon in the sidereal sign virgo and the 2 lights are opposite the planet most associated with poetry - neptune.. there is a wide looking water grand trine in his chart which releases out of the neptune to his sun/moon.. at the same time 4 of the planets are strong by being in their natural signs, or exalted signs.. its an interesting chart given his renown in the world.. neptune is also a focal planet to the chart as the handle of a bucket chart, using marc edmund jones shapes.. saturn is in the solar and lunar 10th house - always a strong placement indicating a more prominent role in the community or one of greater recognition as i see it.. there is a quintile between his sun and jupiter..

It is very likely Rumi was a double Virgo since the Moon was in that sign for the whole day.
The handle of the bucket, Neptune, is also the apex of a yod configuration involving Venus and the very self-realized Uranus-South Node conjunction. I think one could call this a very spiritual, if not ecstatic, interplay of energies. The Lunation is striking since opposing Ne is at the midpoint of the sextile between the sextile of the yod. The Sun and Moon are almost like the hilt of a dagger, with transcendental Neptune as the point. The image of the whirling Dervish (Sufism) comes immediately to mind and is certainly fitting—music, poetry, and dance as a path for reaching God.

On the date of his death, December 17, 1273, in Konya, Turkey, transiting Neptune was almost exactly conjunct the Moon on his natal Uranus-SN conjunction. The Moon and Mercury were also in the royal sign of Leo. Transiting Saturn was conjunct with natal Mercury. There are some other interesting connections, too. that is quite fascinating on the time of his death and the transits... i missed the yod you mentioned and of course i am curious where you come by the idea of the south node/uranus conjunction as a self realization connection? or was that for the whole yod pattern, ''finger of god'' and all that jazz, astro lit view? either way - thanks so much for chiming in!

Having Uranus in Leo on an exact sextile/trine degree to my Aries/Libra nodes,I can relate to rumi,however my Uranus exact 12th cusp & ruler Sun is in Pisces,Shatabhisha. My realisations how I & fellow humans have been trapped & enslaved
are best kept to myself, but this combination can create an obsession with astrology & a tangible connection with the planetary archetypes in my everyday life to such an extent that they have become my ally.

you have a very interesting chart zosma... you shared it here a few years ago and i still have a copy of it.. it looks equally interesting in sidereal, but the rulerships change.. i believe you when you say all that you do.. i still wonder how much of that is connected to uranus-ketu as aj suggesting in his post.. i don't know.. not to dwell on your chart, but you have ketu in an exact trine to uranus.. ketu is in the 8th and uranus in the 12th... indian astrology considers the degree important, as this gets at the nakshatra ruler, and also the sign ruler important and base conclusions off a number of other factors that western astrology generally don't consider... might be fun for you to explore these ideas! thanks for your comment here!
