Re: France 1792 chart (Sidereal)

i wanted to revisit this chart, as i think the dynamic in france is captured really well by some of the symbolism of this chart and by the transits and solar revolutions that this chart has been experiencing the past 2 years.... here is the chart again in my new morinus graphics!!

Image

once again - a chart with mars in scorpio - sidereal - on the midheaven and at the top of a t square with a pluto - uranus opposition on the bottom.. transiting pluto has been on the ascendant for the past 1-2 years implying a complete breakdown and reinventing of oneself is still in the process of happening.. the ruler of the capricorn ascendant is saturn in aries down in the 4th whole sign house... the ic lands in the 5th ws house.. this position of saturn might imply a number of things - the desire for france to hang onto it's french identity, the idea that their is something not quite right with what it is on the world stage at present, given the rise of the national front and etc. etc.. here is an opinion piece from the new york times that captured some of this angst quite well and framed it in a way that made sense to me..
https://dnyuz.com/2024/06/23/the-e-u-is ... t-like-it/

here are the transits for july 7th below - the 2nd round of voting in the french elections happening at present.. aside from t pluto in the vicinity of the ascendant and squaring onto the natal saturn, t uranus is very close to the i.c. point and creating a type of earthquake in the political landscape unfolding in france and by extension, europe at present... the transit of both uranus and mars are moving right into the square of this opposition of pluto - uranus in the 1792 chart and of course uranus/mars are transiting opposite the midheaven which natal mars is conjunct.. a volatile set it is what it looks like to me, indicating changes are happening a bit quicker then many can process perhaps....

Re: France 1792 chart (Sidereal)

14
nothing has really changed with regard the political dynamic unfolding in france at present... it is chaotic and very unstable which makes sense if one believes the transit of uranus and pluto to the angles of this chart have any relevance.. well maybe it is more uranus then pluto.. take a look at the 2024 solar return coming up in 24 or so days..

Image

that is uranus at 2 taurus sidereal - square onto the rising degree of 2 leo.. the 1792 chart has uranus at 0 leo 53 minutes, so it isn't far away either... one could say neptune in transit opp the sun-mercury also enters into all this too.. bottom line - a great deal of turbulence and instability mark the position of france on the world stage at present...

here are a couple of relevant articles for more direct insight from the french publication le monde..
https://www.lemonde.fr/en/opinion/artic ... 01_23.html

this article discusses the idea of finding a way to impeach macron.
https://www.lemonde.fr/en/france/articl ... 179_7.html

i find it all quite interesting in light of the creator of telegram being held for 3 days upon arrival at the airport in france, as i think this sheds some light onto an ongoing topic of who gets to control and have access to the information that these social media platforms have access to... i have a day chart for pavel durov, but without a specific time of birth for him, it is hard to say much... it is the same situation with telegram, the corporation he oversees...

immediately below is a day chart to noon for pavel durov in sidereal... there are some interesting midpoint pictures to the chart.. mercury and sun to saturn midpoint is pluto.. this happens to be square to where pluto is transiting at present.. the outer planets in the bundle of planets held between mercury and jupiter happens to be 2 scorpio 47, which is opposed to the present transit of uranus at about 2 taurus, and of course this 2 degrees fixed is highlighted in the solar return for 2024 in frances chart as well - so the synergy between the 1792 chart for france and pavel is interesting here, with regard the present transits..

Image

it is the same issue finding a chart for telegram..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telegram_(software)

i am reminded of the topic of tik tok - a corporation based in china that the usa wants to have some ownership of, or it will ban it from the usa.. the way i see it the intel agencies want a backdoor to access info.. if they aren't allowed this - they censor... that sounds mostly plutoian to me, but maybe it is all the outer planets energies that can't be contained in the way control freaks would like.. watching france is watching this dynamic in real time... it is tempting to say it is a world wide phenomenon, with no resolution coming any time soon... perhaps it is the clash of globalism verses nationalism and the conflicts inherent in this clash of viewpoints?? outer planet energy seems to dominate at present..

Re: France 1792 chart (Sidereal)

the wheels appear to be coming off the french gov't as the world witnessed yesterday with michel barnier losing the vote of confidence.... this vote was the first time a French government had been voted down by parliament in more than 60 years.

i was looking at michel barniers chart yesterday.. they have an AA rated chart for him at astrodatabank.. also included are a few relevant wiki links..

https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Barnier,_Michel
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Barnier
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barnier_government

here is a new york times article on this from yesterday, and also an x link from barnier himself showing a time of 1121 am... i have a hard time with getting accurate times for events sometimes, and this is one of them... i don't know what exact time the vote of non confidence happened, and i can't find it anywhere..

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/04/worl ... rnier.html
https://x.com/MichelBarnier/status/1864389693921435777

using barniers sidereal chart, there are a few astro observations i'd like to make.. they revolve around barniers mars in close opposition to pluto... it is interesting to me that the ongoing transit of mars in opposition to pluto that is happening in this time frame would bring a person to the front of the world stage who shares the same configuration in his chart... see his natal sidereal chart below..

Image

perhaps one more reason why this opposition is relevant is his natal moon is applying to this opposition as well... in the solar return for 2024 we see the ascendant degree is very close to this mars-pluto opposition.. also there is a close mars/moon conjunction in the solar return.. the capricorn ascendant lands in the 8th whole sign house from his gemini ascendant where we find his natal mars as well..

Image

one might think an exalted mars in capricorn ( sidereal ) would indicate a man who is successful in his commanding actions, but perhaps the opposition to pluto interfered with his actions from yesterday?? below is a biwheel with natal on the inside and 2024 solar return on the outside..

Image

one other observation i'd like to make is in the 2024 solar return uranus is squaring onto this mars- pluto opposition.. why this is interesting to me is due the fact that the france 1792 sidereal chart has a very similar pattern of prominence in it - mars at the top of a t square with pluto-uranus in an opposition on the bottom of the square.... this is recreated in barniers solar return for 2024... it seems like he was the man of the hour, until he wasn't... not sure who macron replaces him with here...

Hi James - I hope you don't mind me jumping in with the tropical solar return for the 1792 chart. The grand cross formed between the natal (inner wheel) and the return chart (outer wheel) on the MC/IC axis is huge, and speaks a lot about the huge upheavals going on in France at the moment. The whole foundation of the Republic is being rocked by this Uranus transit across the IC, opposite 1792 Mars on the MC, square to the natal Uranus-Pluto opposition. The return chart for 2024 constellates the whole explosive complex.

Image

The upcoming tropical Capricorn ingress, set for Paris, brings the natal angles to the fore, with a very close repetition of the degrees in the ascendant and midheaven signs. According to traditional mundane lore, this ingress should be considered because the Aries ingress has a cardinal sign (Capricorn) rising, pointing to a volatile political situation throughout the year. Cardinal signs rising in the Aries ingress, being associated with high levels of activity and change, indicate a situation that needs to reassessed at each quarter of the year.

Image

The biwheel below shows the Republic chart (inner) with the ingress (outer wheel). Note the precise alignment of the angles across both charts, with ingress Uranus again disturbing the MC/IC axis. I am intrigued by the t-square Moon-Jupiter-Saturn in mid mutable signs, with the focal point Jupiter being on the shared 5th house Porphyry cusp. Does this suggest new elections in the early part of 2025, with the people (Moon) having to make a decisive choice between conservative (Saturn) and liberal (Jupiter) parties?

There's also another titanic grand cross across these charts, with ingress Pluto/Mars squaring the fundamental opposition axis in the Republic chart. This axis, intriguingly, has Jupiter and Neptune opposed to Saturn. Clearly Jupiter and Saturn issues are profoundly important to this nation. Ingress/transiting Pluto/Mars opposition is forcing the issue, with Pluto rising in the ingress. Of course it's been triggering the Republic ascendant for some time as it moves back and forth through late Capricorn. This is a long-term process for France and the astrology makes it pretty clear why there has been so much turmoil for such a lengthy period of time.

Here is a little postscript, again intriguing. The Mars-Saturn conjunction before last occurred in April 2022. The synodic degree was very close to the 1792 Pluto (within a degree). Again this triggers the Mars/MC-Uranus-Pluto t-square very precisely. Added into the mix was the nodal axis, aligned with the meridian within two degrees. This would bring the 2022 eclipses into the equation, triggering the MC/IC and 4th-10th house axis. In fact, the relevant eclipses were lunar: 19th November 2021 with Moon at 27 Taurus, and 16 May 2022 with Moon at 25 Scorpio. Uranus was approaching the IC, but still had some way to go before making contact with the precise degree. The conjunction preceded the first round of the French Presidential elections by five days. The May 2022 lunar eclipse post-dated the two rounds of the election.

Image

Here is the eclipse for May 2022 on the inner wheel, with the Republic chart on the outer wheel. More challenges with the eclipse degree axis rising/setting in Paris for the time of the soli-lunar opposition - Saturn at the eclipse is square this axis. The French nation and its peoples are certainly going through a huge and challenging transformation.

thanks for sharing your work and insights here! i wasn't into labeling these threads sidereal or tropical, but that was imposed on me a few years ago... the reality is, i'd like to engage in astrological conversation with others and don't care what zodiac anyone works with! it is the same with house systems, planet choices and etc. etc... i am here to learn and gain from others insights, so thank you for sharing your work and insights here!! i really appreciate it..

with regard to your observation on the mutale sign grand cross - good question... i know macron has said publicly, yesterday i believe - he is not leaving and will remain until 2027, but i suppose he could surprise everyone and move for an early election.. i don't know the french political system well enough to comment on that.. i know germany under scholz has been forced to hold an early election - feb 2025, but perhaps germanys political system is different... maybe someone from france can comment on your question.

what did the aries ingree for 2024 look like?? i know from reading on ingress charts that if the aries ingress is fixed rising, it is supposed to hold for the year.. i really haven't studied any of them other then the aries ingress charts, so i don't know what to say about the capricorn ingress chart you've shared although i see the important symbolism you are highlighting and observing!

your 2nd post on the 2022 mars/saturn conjunction so close to natal pluto with the eclipse data is also quite fascinating to consider... i was trying to understand the yellow vests movement which was more focused on 2018 area, but i wonder if all of these astrological connections could have bearing on these events, much in advance of the actual astrological signatures we are considering??

it seems europe, france and germany the 2 largest countries in the euro union - are going thru some serious political changes at this time... i hesitate to consider charts for the european union which would open up another can of worms, but it seems the turmoil in these countries and many more around the globe, are very pronounced at present..

please continue to share anything astrologically you'd like to share!

Hi James - thanks for your encouragement. Here is the tropical Aries ingress set for Paris for 2024.

Image

The year has a cardinal sign on the ascendant indicating a changeable, dynamic situation. Again the signs on the angles of the 1792 chart are repeated, although not as precisely as in the Capricorn ingress above. Uranus is again on an angle, this time the IC of the Aries ingress chart. Moon opposes Pluto at the beginning of Leo-Aquarius. The alignments are not as precise as in the charts above. However, the ingress for Paris certainly sets the scene for the forthcoming twelve months.

i really haven't found much relevance to the ingress charts... i would like to be convinced otherwise.. i can't recall the reference in one of the books on mundane astrology pointing out that no one was able to predict ww2, but perhaps that was mostly directed at ceo carter - can't remember the details.. i spent some time with them and was unsuccessful in getting any real substance out of them.. now, that is not to say others can't or don't..

how would you interpret the aries ingress chart for 2025 which i have shown here immediately below?? after some editing, i am back with the chart..

data i am using is march 20, 10:01:20 am to paris - 2025..

Hi James - this question of the usefulness of ingress charts was raised by Carter himself in his little book on mundane astrology called An Introduction to Political Astrology. There seems to have been a great deal of soul searching amongst astrologers at their failure to predict the outbreaks of both world wars. Carter discusses ingress charts on pp. 43-49. He gives the Aries ingress charts for the years 1914 and 1939 in his book and provides an analysis of them.

He concludes that neither chart is a sufficient foundation for predicting such terrible events. In this he is probably correct. Most traditional mundane astrologers would agree, saying that there is a range of charts that should be considered alongside the ingress charts - Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions, Mars-Saturn and Mars-Jupiter conjunction charts for a start. Eclipses should be added into the mix as well.

I think mundane astrologers must have hindered in the past by not having access to such excellent resources as Nick Campion's Book of World Horoscopes, and the wide range of information we have at our fingertips through the internet. The range of translations of older texts would also not have been available. The 1914 ingress (tropical set for London) is below.

Image

To my eye the chart actually looks challenging, despite the predominance of soft aspects noted by Carter. The three most malefic planets are in the 12th house, with fallen, out of sect Mars just having risen. Lord of the ascendant is on the cusp of the 8th (noted by Carter). Sun square Pluto is also noted by Carter, but he acknowledges that astrologers judging this chart at the time would not have known about this planet. Saturn is square the nodal axis (on the bendings) which is aligned with the meridian, bringing the eclipse cycle for 1913-1914 into sharp relief. Just noticed that Mercury, ruler of the 12th, Saturn and Pluto, is retrograde on the MC, square to the greater malefic.

Oh, and hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it.

thanks ed

you jogged my memory and i do recall reading carters book that you share here.. in fact, i have read a number of his books, but mainly - many years ago... so thanks for that..

i more recently had been reading a number of ben dykes translations and they go over much the same terrain - you have to consider a number of charts - jupiter-saturn conjunction, mars-saturn conjunctions, eclipses and etc. etc.. as i see it if some astrologer has been working with these charts, aside from andre barbaults work, i have yet to see much of anything by astrologers in terms of mundane astrology, especially in terms of predictions on the use of these charts.. and i have tried, prior to converting to working with the sidereal zodiac too... maybe i neglected to use the terms, lol..

i think your observation on the 1914 aries ingress to london with mercury retro on the midheaven and ruling the 12th is relevant... i was thinking of something similar with the aries ingress to paris for 2025, if i use the 1792 cap rising france tropical or sidereal chart... jupiter is rising in gemini and rules the 12th house of the 1792 chart for france.. but that is playing with 2 charts instead of one...

here is a bit of an analysis of the 2025 paris aries ingress chart.... jupiter rising looks good on the surface, but it is in gemini, a sign of its weakness.. it is ruling the 7th and 10th ( whole sign) houses. does this imply the opposition has greater strength here? i am not sure.. the ascendant ruler retro mercury is in a conjunction with venus, the 12th/5th house ruler venus, and sun, 3rd whole sign house ruler and ic ruler... depending on how you view a conjunction of mercury in aries to sun in aries - (i think it is mashallah who suggests because sun is in aries, it is net positive for mercury in aries) - i think most folks would think this is not an especially favourable chart, but it is not bad in some respects too.. the suns ruler is mars in its fall in cancer - a negative, and one might also say the fact sun is in a very close conjunction with neptune, it is also weakened.. i think this neptune influence has shown up in some of the french charts in a mostly negative way too fwiw.. moon is in sag, in the 7th whole house sign, but back off the descendant enough to make it less of an influence for good... it is applying to mercury as well in a trine..

maybe i need to consult the jupiter-saturn conjunction chart to make greater sense of it... the eclipse charts will impact this chart given where the nodal axis is here.. in fact, the total solar eclipse for march 14th, just before the 2025 aries ingress looks more challenging with aries rising and closely squared by mars in cancer in the 4th, suggesting the anger and hostility within the community here... chart is shown below... again - it is all idle speculation on my part... i would like to see someone incorporate these mundane astrology ideas that get mentioned in books and show them in a way that has some relevance here and into the future... i have been unable to achieve this myself and have mostly fallen back on national charts, which are a different type of quagmire in themselves...

Re: France 1792 chart (Sidereal)

Hi James - I've reposted the 2025 tropical Aries ingress set for Paris below.

Image

My eye is immediately taken to the intense focus of energy in the first and last few degrees of the zodiac. Beginnings and endings. But there are some significant challenges in my view, even at this point. Mercury and Venus are retrograde and are back in Pisces by the end of the month. Saturn is advancing and will get to Aries later in the year, but then retreats back to Pisces. My sense is that there is something of a stalemate, backward and forward, at least for the first half of the year.

As you note, on the face of it, optimistic Jupiter rises in this chart trine the MC. However, it, along with all the other traditional planets (apart from the Sun) is peregrine. Jupiter is accidentally dignified by its placement on the horizon, but without dignity its power to act constructively is limited. Jupiter rules the 11th house (institutions of the state) and 7th house (world beyond France). I want to say there is a crisis of faith (Jupiter) impacting the nation. This is being felt/led by the people of France (Moon in Sagittarius).

The only placement that really anchors this chart to Paris, and by extension France, is the placement of Jupiter on the ascendant. Carter's observation that the ingress impacts the wider world is true, but significance for nations has to be located at the angles. In my view, Jupiter has to do all the work, and has very little resource to work with. I guess Jupiter could symbolise the President, Macron, or the French polity, the broader institutions of the State. It seems like a very difficult situation to me.

With a mutable sign rising, in traditional lore the chart for the Libra ingress should be read. Hence my sense that the second half of the astrological year will be highly significant. The Libra ingress is below:

Image

The sense I have here is that the energy has shifted. Most positions are at the beginning of signs, with the exception of Saturn, ruler of the MC and the 11th house. Is this the old order, desperately hanging on? Saturn is placed in the 12th house along with Neptune. There is something about the end of the France the world has known. I don't think we will know the answer until Saturn completes its conjunction with Neptune in the early part of 2026.

However, the solar eclipse on the preceding day seems extraordinary to me. The nodal axis was centrally placed in the configuration in Aries/Pisces in the Aries ingress chart, drawing our attention to the relevance of eclipses during the year. The eclipse degree opposes retrograde Saturn and completes a kite formation with the transpersonal planets all of which have changed signs. Is this the point at which change begins to manifest? Uranus is just about to rise, Pluto is just about to culminate and Neptune sits between the two of them.

Image

I still believe that it will take Saturn to move into Aries to complete the picture, but these days in September seem to point the way forward. I've set the eclipse chart in the context of the 1792 chart and you can see how powerful this eclipse is in relation to the French Republic.

Image

In my thirty plus years as an astrologer I don't think that I've seen a pair of charts as remarkable as these. The eclipse is on the 1792 Sun precisely. The eclipse horizon is aligned with the 1792 meridian. The eclipse meridian is aligned with the 1792 horizon. Eclipse Pluto is rising in the 1792 chart and eclipse Uranus is in the 1792 4th house. Eclipse Saturn conjunct Neptune opposes the Republic's Sun. There's almost too much going on. In fact, this pair of charts tells the long-term story here, which is the approach of the Republic's Pluto return. It is many years off, but now that Pluto has entered Aquarius this is probably the biggest story.

Whatever transpires in September it certainly looks like it's going to be an interesting time to be in France! For 2025 and beyond!

Regarding the 1914 chart the biggest clue of warfare would be N. Node conjunct Chiron on the MC meaning effectively 'many' (N.Node) 'wounds '(Chiron). I'm not sure Chiron was available in Carter's time or indeed whether the nodes were much used either.
