1. The directed 12th is critical at 0 TA. It is not involved in a directed aspect; in the radix it is in Gemini which is on the profected 11th (hopes) and is ruled by Mercury (children) which is with the Sun (Lord of the year) in the 8th while radix Mercury is sitting in the square of the directed Nodal axis.

2. The directed SAN is critical at 29 LE and is not involved in a direction although Leo is the profection sign and the Sun is inconjunct the directed lot of Children in Men's Charts and is inconjunct the radix 2nd house cusp. Perhaps he could not afford children at this time in his life (8th and 2nd being emphasized?)

3. Directed Neptune is changing degree while she trines the radix lot of Children and the directed 3rd (in Leo, the profection sign) is trine radix Neptune. Neptune is in the radix 11th and in the profection, she is in the 9th conjunct the 10th (wishful thinking?)

4. Directed Pluto is is changing degree, he is involved in a mitigated sextile (trine) from directed Venus (rules the radix 5th of children) and the trine of directed Mars (co-rules the radix 5th) who is also involved in a sextile with directed Venus. Pluto is in the radix 11th of hopes and the profected 10th (career or 4th from the 7th) An element of coercion again, his wife wanted children more than he did?

5. Directed Fortune is changing degrees, Fortune is with Saturn, the Sun, and Mercury in the profected 8th another indication he's concerned about his finances. Saturn rules his radix and profected 7th (marriage) and his radix 8th (joint finances); and directed Saturn is trine the directed lot of Children as is the directed Moon (wife) while the radix Moon occupies the profected 5th.

Aspects and directions give the appearance of a very mixed time of life with a focus on his marriage, finances, and his career dreams (Neptune, 9th).

Albert Einstein Event: June 9, 1905 1st of 4 Foundational Papers Published

146
On March 17, 1905, while employed as a Patent Clerk in Zurich's Patent Office, Einstein finished what was to become the first of four papers to be written and published in what has come to be known as his annus mirabilis. The papers form the foundation of modern physics.

The first one was published on June 9, 1905 in the scientific journal, Annalen de Physik (Annals of Physics). It was on the photoelectric effect and outlined his conception of energy quanta; it was for this paper that he won the 1921 Noble Prize in Physics but his idea of energy quanta was rejected, in particular by Max Planck, author of the quantum theory, for years; today we know Einstein's quanta as the photon. He was 26 years old when the paper was published; the profection was in the 3rd whole sign, Virgo, with the profected Asc at 11 VI 38 and Mercury as Lord of the Year.
Einstein-1905-Prof-3rd.png Einstein-1905-Prof-3rd.png Viewed 15454 times 118.64 KiB
The 3rd rules writing and documents as does Mercury, who also rules rational thought. It is in the radix 10th house (career) which is on the profected 7th of conflict; perhaps reflecting Einstein's creative (in Aries) struggle to express his ideas and have them accepted by others. Jupiter, ruler of the 7th, is in the 6th of work (he wrote the papers while at work in the Patent Office) trine Pluto in the 9th of publishing. An exalted Mars is the dispositor of Mercury, Saturn, and Fortune; it is in the 5th of creativity.

Had to dig through Bonatti to see which lots might best suit Einstein's endeavours at this point in time. Settled on the lot of Skill, Talent, Acuity, & Discipline (Mercury to Spirit), and the lot of Reason & Sense (Mercury to Mars). As it turned out, they were both active.

1. The lot of Skill, Talent, & Acuity is critical at 0 Capricorn, in the profected 5th of creativity with Mars while directed Mars is in a mitigated semi-sextile (conjunction) with the directed Sun, ruler of the radix 3rd of writing.

2. The directed 3rd (sign of the profection) is sextile radix Pluto in the profected 9th (publishing) while the directed 11th (which holds Pluto in the radix) is in a mitigated square (doubled) with the directed Moon which is conjunct the radix 6th (work) and trine Mercury, Lord of the Year.

3. Venus, ruler of the profected 9th of publication, is changing degree as is the lot of Reason & Sense, which she rules. While Venus herself is not involved in a directed aspect, the directed lot is semi-sextile directed Jupiter (in the radix 9th of publishing) in the profected 6th of work and conjunct the radix MC (career). Directed Jupiter is also conjunct directed Fortune and semi-sextile the radix MC.

While there are indications he may be involved with documents and publications and these might be, in some fashion, important to the life, the degree of importance is not immediately apparent.

3. Directed Saturn, lord of the year, is trine the lot of Marriage of Men. Interestingly, directed Mercury, which rules the profected 5th (children), is inconjunct the lot of Children which implies it has no interest in producing an event related to children and the activations all do appear to come through Neptune, Pluto in the radix 11th and the Moon in the profected 11th, all of whom can signify children by their opposition to the 5th.

November 7, 1919 Overnight fame
“Einstein became world famous on 7 November 1919, following press publication of a meeting held in London on 6 November 1919 where the results were announced of two British expeditions led by Eddington, Dyson and Davidson to measure how much background starlight is bent as it passes the Sun. “ The Royal Society
Einstein was 40 years old at the time, in a 5th whole sign profection, Scorpio, with Mars acting as Lord of the year; the profection is the same as that shown for his marriage to Elsa. The Age Arc is 40º 39', the directions are slightly different.

1. His Asc is critical at 0 GE, it is not involved in a directed aspect, nor is the radix Asc. The Moon, ruler of the radix Asc is involved in a sextile to the directed lot of Fortune and the radix Asc is on the profected 9th of public opinions.

2. The directed 3rd (in Leo in the radix, on the profected 10th) is conjunct Uranus and both are conjunct the place of the fixed star Sirius at 12 CA in the radix conjunct the Asc, it promises fame, honours, and riches. The combination is trine the radix MC and all are in the profected 9th ruled by the radix Asc ruler, the Moon (fame). While I haven't been referencing transits in these chart studies, it does seem apropos to point out that on this day (November 8, 1919) transit Uranus went direct at 27 Aquarius on radix Jupiter in the 9th and ruling the radix 10th.

The events that played out were 3rd/9th events with the profected 3rd holding Mars, ruler of the profected Asc, and being cadent, Einstein had no say over how the events unfolded although given the axis is on the radix 1st/7th the events are likely to strongly affect his life.

It is interesting, too, that the profected 3rd/9th axis falls across Cancer/Capricorn, solstice signs, indicating an ongoing situation that eventually works itself out and all the publicity and fame that erupted stems back to the papers Einstein wrote in 1905, 14 years earlier when he was in a 3rd house profection. Definitely need to pay more attention to the way profected charts work!

3. Directed Mercury is changing degree while it is conjunct the directed lot of Works while directed Neptune is in a mitigated semi-sextile (conjunction) with radix Mercury in the profected 5th, he achieved a movie star level of celebrity (5th) for his work and ideas (Mercury).

4. The lot of Victory is changing degrees. The lot itself is not involved in a directed aspect but it is ruled by Mars, lord of the year, and sits in the profected 10th (career) and radix Mars is in a mitigated semi-sextile (conjunction) with the directed 11th (in Aries in the radix and on the profected 6th). Victory is also Jupiter's lot and directed Jupiter is in a mitigated semi-sextile (conjunction) with itself and being activated by that transit Uranus.

Out of curiosity I took a look at how the May 29, 1919 eclipse chart interacts with Einstein's radix (I remembered an article, The Baffling Problem, written years ago, by Bob Makransky in which he felt the connections were not strong enough to warrant the amount of fame Einstein achieved. I think that may be true to a degree, he relied solely on transit aspects but he discounted Uranus turning direct on radix Jupiter as it would happen regardless of the eclipse; personally I think that as it happened when eclipse Uranus was opposing Einstein's radix Uranus is telling, after all, Uranus could have gone direct on any degree, that it did so on Einstein's ruler of the 10th posited in the 9th with the two Uranus' in opposition across the 3rd/9th is, I think, more than a small coincidence. Add to that the emphasize given to the 3rd/9th by direction and the timing is very telling. Even the eclipse itself is in the eclipse 9th with Mars, Einstein's lord of the year!

1. Directed Saturn, ruler of the radix 7th and 8th, is critical at 29 CP; it is not directly involved in any aspects, nor is radix Saturn but it indicates a critical time related to marriage and death.

2. No elements are changing degree.

3. The directed 10th (wife's 4th) is trine directed Pluto in the profected 2nd (wife's 8th) while the directed 2nd is conjunct the directed South Node. The radix 2nd is in Cancer which is on the profected 4th (end of things).

4. I've never come across a lot for the Death of a spouse, wife, or husband; the marriage lots appear to stand in for them. Here, directed Jupiter is sextile the directed lot of Marriage Contracts while it is conjunct the radix 7th (marriage) and it is involved in a mitigated semi-sextile (conjunction) with directed Neptune which is inconjunct the radix Asc. The Sun (in the profected 12th) is also opposite (separation) the radix lot of Marriage to Men. Jupiter could be indicating a “release” from the marriage or, as ruler of the radix 10th (wife's 4th) it could be signalling the wife's end.

1. No elements are critical nor are any changing degree.

2. The most obvious indicator is the classic one of Saturn (the greater malefic) conjunct the radix 7th (the setting place). Saturn also rules the 7th and 8th in the radix and the directed 12th is involved in a mitigated semi-sextile (conj) with directed Saturn; pointing to the possibility of hospitalization and death.

3. Coupled with the above, directed Mercury, ruler of the profected 8th, is conjunct the directed lot of Death and directed Pluto is conjunct the radix 9th; the 9th is in Aquarius which is on the profected 4th (end of life).

Albert Einstein Chart Overview

155
Overview

Einstein has all but two planet above the horizon so nearly everything he will do in life will attract public attention. He also has all but three planets in the eastern hemisphere of the chart so he tends to shape his environment to fit his own concerns. That the public arena is one of his chief concerns is indicated by all but three planets in the public (8-9-10-11) houses. His chart is powerful, having 5 planets in angles and two in succedent houses with the emphasis on his career (3 in the 10th) and associates (2 in the 11th). The main life or personal interest is the 9th house of higher education, philosophy.

All but two of his planets are in Fire and Earth so he is enthusiastic and practical; ironically he has only one planet in Air, which is usually associated with the intellect, that planet is Jupiter in Aquarius in the 9th so the greater benefic, given to expansion, in a fixed sign; he was not indecisive in his thinking.

The Sun is the most elevated planet in the chart (10º from the MC) and is square the Moon, ruler of the Ascendant posited in the 6th of work; an indication he will gain fame for his own self and his work. He also has Sirius, a fixed star that promises fame and honours, conjunct his Ascendant and partile trine his MC; he attained a celebrity status similar to that of a movie star.

Triplicity Rulers
His is a diurnal chart with the Sun as the sect light in Pisces, making his triplicity rulers Venus, Mars, and the Moon. Venus is in detriment in Aries in the 10th house which possibly indicates his family, and mother in particular, came from a high social level (10th) but was in constrained circumstances; the detriment is also reduced by the dispositor, Mars, being in its exaltation, it would 'lift' Venus somewhat. Venus is trine the Moon, the participating triplicity ruler, in the 6th so the first half of his life would be supported through his own work and efforts and through the women (Moon) in his life. The 2nd triplicity ruler, Mars, is in better condition, being angular in the 7th and in his exaltation so the second half of his life should provide him with a much more agreeable set of circumstances.
His MC and Ascendant have these same triplicity rulers so his life and career follow the same the same trend.

12th Parts
The 12th part of the Asc falls at 1 SA 14 in the 6th of work in Jupiter's sign and term. The 6th is cadent so life starts out with difficulties but improves as Jupiter is in the 9th, a good place.

The 12th part of the MC falls at 16 LE 30 in the 2nd in the Sun's sign, and Saturn's term indicating a middling (succedent) start but a rise later as both the Sun and Saturn are in the 10th with the Sun as the most elevated planet in the chart.

1. Directed Saturn, Lord of the Year, is critical at 0 Aries and trine Firmicus' lot of Children.

2. The directed N.Node is changing degree indicating a critical event with directed Pluto sitting at the directed nodes bending in opposition to Dorotheus' radix lot of Children, male which is conjunct the directed 5th (children) and while the directed Asc was conjunct radix Pluto. Radix Pluto is in the 12th (confinement) while profected Pluto is in the 6th (illness). The directed nodes are across the profected 3rd/9th axis with Saturn (LoY) in the 3rd with the radix S. Node and Pluto in the profected 6th. I'm not sure how this axis plays into the event unless it possibly relates to her being unable to travel (she was in a band at the time).

3. The directed 12th is in opposition to Mercury (children) ruler of the profected 5th while directed Jupiter, ruler of the radix 5th, is in a mitigated square (doubled in power) with radix Mercury and square the Moon (motherhood). Directed Uranus is trine the radix Ascendant and sextile the profected Asc so possibly the birth came on her suddenly.
