Please spell out the month as it isn't clear which is the month and which is the day. Here in the US we write the month first, followed by the day. (You can edit your original post.)

for anyone who wants to look at the chart pierre offers - female 08-06-62 - that is month, day, year, as opposed to day, month, year.. august 6 1962...after doing both charts, i found the one with libra rising..

Pierre is from Canada. I was surprised that he placed the month first, since all of Europe (and the rest of the world??) places the day before the month. So I'm surprised that Pierre used the USA format. Here on Skyscript we always need to spell out the month, and also note whether an ascendant is tropical or sidereal. (Just to make it clear for readers.)

Yes sorry, its all month first, and tropical. I have been having trouble writing posts here. LIke writing a lengthy post and losing all of it.

That chart is going to have libra asc and venus in Debilitation both in sidereal and tropical rasis.

But as I was writing ealrlier (and it all got lost) the trimsamsa, the D30, is having venus with moon in capricorn. Thsi varga, the trimsamsa is very important in health matters. venus is capricorn is ok. But moon is an ennemy of venus and afflicts it. And the ruler is saturn. Saturn is in very bad state in scorpio a sign of an ennemy. this ennemy is mars. And mars sits rigth there in scorpio and afflicts satun badly. Its a lousy combination for health.
Weak saturn gives low resistance and the body physical cleaning process of toxins etc is not optimum at all. Toxins are gonna accumulate in the nervous and muscular system. Muscle tone is so so.
Venus, is suffering the brunt of it all. As we said venus rules the regenerative process, digestion, extraction of energy in digestion, esp. the small intestine. So this process is delayed and laborious. And it is very important because venus rules the ascendant in the main chart !

Pierre, what references are you using for medical astrology? Cornell's Encyclopedia of Medical Astrology lists Mars and Scorpio as ruling the reproductive glands. I have always stayed away from astrological medical diagnosis since I have no medical training. I don't have time at the moment, but will try to check Dr. K.S. Charak's books on medical astrology tomorrow.

The medical astrology course by Ernst Wilhelm is based on naturopathic, nutrition and basic astrological principles from Parasara that has given me really good results.
There is work there on the 5 element theory with links to the Chinese system and the meridiens.
Yes mars will have a say on gonads but venus has a big role, and on hormonal balance and it affects the moods and self image strongly. It also affects how a person will decide what is good for him/her and the choices made of partners. I often think how important venus is for so many things in life because it expresses the rajasic choices of daily life and how we are able to get happiness from them or not. Wasnt venus the courtesan, who through her pleasant manners and looks was flowing well in society and got pleasures , recognition and happiness. We need its fluidity...

I have taken classes in Medical astrology by one of the leading vedic astrologers in the west upto advanced level. Also charac's books are great Resources as Charac is both a practicing surgeon and astrologer.

The first example work excellent using the sidereal zodiac.



some Points of observation:

1.)
Venus rules reproduction system in women .

---Venus is debilitated in the 12th house.
--- Drekkana chart is important for longevity and Health.
In drekkana chart Venus is in virgo debilitated and in 12th
house.


--- Venus is ruler of 22nd drekkana in sidereal. Which is classicly a
planet which is prone to problems in Health in vedic Medical astrology.
"22nd Drekkana is called Khara and its lord is known as Kharesh.22nd Drekkana is considered one of the first-ranked malefic planet for the native and gives clue to his Death".

---7H rules reproduction system. 7L is Mars in 8H.
8House is house of chronic Health issues.


---Moon is also involved in womans reproduction system and menstruation.
(According to Charac, and also western Medical astrologers).

In the sidereal chart the Moon falls in the 12th house just in end of sign in bad avastha in a dussthana house.
Moon is placed in the '22nd drekkana' in the sidereal chart (very problematic),
afflicted by Saturn and Ketu. note the 22nd drekkana is the 8th house of the
drekkana chart.


Below Drekkana chart:
---Moon is in scorpio debilitated in the D-30 trimsamsha chart.

--- I have been learned to also use the D-6 Shastamsha chart for Health.
In the sidereal chart it clearly point to venus, as the ascendant in this chart is Taurus, and venus ruler of the shastamsha is placed in the 6th house in that chart, which is a key placement !


It is very clearcut shown here using the sidereal zodiac.

The chart shows primarily Kapha as ayurvedic dosha (fleshy).

--- Venus rules asc. Kapha.
--- Ascendant aspected by Jupiter (Kapha).
--- Asc ruler venus associated by the Moon (Kapha).
--- IN D9 Jupiter is probably strongest planet, aspecting
the ascendant there as well (kapha).

Yes there are indeed sidereal difficult aspects for health as you have mentionned. I would not disagree although the exact avasthas for the planets are quite involved and would need to be considered. Thanks for sharing your ideas. As you explain this chart will not by itself be a clear slant whether sidereal or tropical so there we are.

The ex I mentionned are following Parasara' teaching. About the doshas ideas, the moon and venus are both kapha and vata. So their avasthas will determine which way it goes. The exact dosha build in the chart is also quite involved. Having venus ruling several vargas would not be by itself indication of weight problems, nor having the moon aspect it. Nor having Jupiter aspecting it. I have moon on Asc for instance, and I am skinny. Only jupiter is truly a kapha planet. But I would disagree that jupiter makes stocky bodies. We would need a careful study of it and whether the kapha is disrupted.

The stocky built is due in Jaimini to having the AK in Debilitation in virgo. This afflicts mercury which rules the thyroid and unbalances its functions and disrupt the natural physical growth. Its well known the thyroid can bring about weight issues.
Here that person began gaining some some weight after the year 2000, 2002, in the Saturn dasa which began in 2000, using the Ernst ayanamsa, Saturn is afflicted in the rasi chart and very afflicted in the trimsamsa chart. Saturn is a purely vata graha, so brings about constriction in the tissues if its not harmonious.

Only in the Sidereal chart is Saturn in the 22nd drekkana as showed in my last post. (Together with the Moon AK in sidereal). That's a health challenge.


(Saturn is simultaneusly in the Mrityu Bhaga degree.14 cap for saturn)
Which is the degree bad for Saturn in Capricorn. regarded as bad for Health.
But that is independent of which zodiac, as that point is convertible to the tropical zodiac also.


Fleshy body is a symptom of Kapha. But must be analysed in more detail.
But Jupiter,Venus and Moon are primarily Kapha planets, although with some influence from other dosha's as well.

I m not sure what ayanamsa you'd be running to have moon as AK.

And then also have Saturn in the 22nd drekkana with the moon. I cant find one for it,
