Will she be okay at this job & in NY?

1
Hi all, I have a new chart, I didn't check whether it was radical because the moon is sitting in the 11th house and this is about my friend.

Context: my friend got a new job, making four times her salary in New York! She had applied for other jobs and the one she really wanted in Canada, she didn't get. I told her to move to New York and take the position, it will be great for her but I was also curious about it, but I know I approached the advice from a simple place of optimism, something in my gut though is saying something might be wrong.

As someone who has travelled so much for work to the New York specifically, I wondered if it was a place where she would be okay.

Chart details:

-L1 (me), Jupiter and in detriment in the 12th house. Makes sense because: 1. she doesn't know I asked this question and I candidly don't want to tell her anything negative 2. I'm weak to help her anyway. She needs a new position and this is the only option for her at this time.

- L11(her), is Saturn, which is sitting in the 12th house where Saturn rejoices, but I know that overall this isn't a great house to be in. This is her second house, which tells me her focus is currently on money (it's a big component for the job).

- L8 (her L10), is mars sitting in her fourth house, and is in detriment, something is wrong with the job that we don't know about yet. It is a smaller investment firm and I found it so strange that they didn't give her a case or any competency questions for the interview.

- the moon, is in detriment, and making a conjunction to the 12th house, which isn't a good sign to me, but this is her 2nd house of finances, so in that regard, it might explain the money

- Mars has a 0 degree separating aspect with Saturn, there is no essential dignity to supplement this and I know this energy is quite difficult.

- Moon makes an aspect to both Saturn and mars at the end same time!!
- Moon has a square to mars and a conjunction to Saturn. My thoughts on what this means:
- Moon is the her decision to go and if it's making a conjunction with Saturn (her) plus in Aquarius, moon is term and in Capricorn, Saturn is domiciled, this tells me the decision is okay, and things work out well for her

- Moon making a square to mars, the role, tells me that this specific position might not be that great for her, or there are some challenges to overcome. That said the moon is in cap, where mars is exalted and mars is in Venus, where the moon is exalted, which is a beautiful strong reception to overcome the square.

- I do realize that the moon is in very late degree and there none of the aspects will occur until it changes sign.

All in all, I'm thinking this is going to be a great next step for her. New city and friends and who knows, maybe she'll meet her husband.

The Mars is not exactly considered in detriment - Lilly says that it is saved because it has a mutual reception with another planet (Moon) by exaltation. Both earn 4 points from this according to Lilly's planetary score sheet:
https://www.skyscript.co.uk/dig5.html

Overall I agree that this can work out for her, but I still don't like the fact that Moon's separating from an infortune (Sun, when afflicting Moon or the Querent, is considered an infortune) to another - Saturn. And then going to yet another - Mars. In Tanit's recent House chart we saw that misfortunes often brought a little disappointment even when they perfected things. You already noted the 12th house placements. Bonatti thinks that Reception can mitigate just about anything but I think she'll still feel unsettled for a while - Moon's changing sign from being in mutual reception with Mars to being peregrine isn't exactly reassuring.

At least she is so well taken care of (received) everywhere she goes.

Thanks Amelia, given that the moon changes sign, does it mean she will no longer be received? I'm assuming the interviews went well, but I'm wondering when she gets there.
Thank you!

I think we consider reception in the current degree, not the degree when the perfection actually happens. This is how we usually deal with term/face and we have to be consistent. The fact that it has to change sign for perfection to take place may be of significance - in one of my charts and some other charts I read about it seems to present an unexpected hurdle or change.

On second thought the Sun could as a natural sig symbolise the job offer and be more descriptive than malefic.

But as the Moon is YOUR cosignificator and she in a very
tight apllication to conjoin with Saturn, your friend's signifi-
cator, to get rid of the feeling to be obliged to help her any
longer might be wishful thinking.
I'm not understanding your point here, sorry.
Thank you!

I understand. Fingers crossed for her either way. Also, I appreciate your positive tone in your analysis. I know you were mentioning Tanitt before and just wanted to call this out, it's something I noticed also in your readings.
Thank you!

Amelia, I can't read your quotation, because the link doesn't work.

Do you (and Lilly) want to omit the fact, that the Moon, besides her
being received, is in her detriment and peregrination, and that Mars
is in the same situation?

I'm very interested in the quote and your own opinion, because I see
that we seem to share a real interest in the origianl teachings of Lilly.

I don't think her intent was to omit anything :) normally everyone contributes bits and pieces, and they build on and try to share their opinion. That's all. We welcome your thoughts so feel free to add your overall perspective of what you see if you're comfortable. Thanks.

Sorry that I was too vague, Wisdom Joy.

So I'll try to explain my thoughts later.

The link works but I think the brackets might have got in the way for you. Please click here:

I did not say to ignore the Moon's original condition. But Lilly apparently thought that a planet can gain dignity by strong mutual reception. This differs from what is taught by medieval astrologers such as Bonatti, of course.

I slipped though. It was 4 points. Not 5 for exaltation by mutual reception. This planetary score sheet is taken directly off CA (p115).
