Winning with Midpoints and Diurnals – A case study

Winning with Midpoints – Hard aspect – A case study

Some background

I was first introduced to horse-racing by a friend astrologer in 1985 and the only book available at that time was “Winning’ by Joyce Wehrman. I have Mars in Sag on the cusp of the 5th (Out of Sect, not an easy ride I confess) trine Venus-Pluto in Leo so 'it was only natural to be interested by sports and games' (quote from Sophia Mason, another gaming tester)
I was not so much interested by the 'gambling' side of it but more by the reasons behind. Why is this horse or that jockey winning this race? And I was keeping track and reviewing the winners to understand how winning was reflected by the stars.

I put that aside for a long time and about 14 years ago, I decided to investigate further. And I had to ask myself all the time 'What do I see? What is there?'. What I call 'creative undressing'. I was trying to unlearn everything I had learned in astrology and simply look at what the stars were telling me. And believe me, it is more difficult to do than learning astrology. For everything you learn can potentially transform itself into a false perception. Einstein said “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.??? Imagination is what will make you grow as an astrologer. My system is not full-proof but consistent enough if you are patient to wait for strong green signals. You are not playing against the system, you are playing against yourself.
In this post, I will show you how I use a single transit and what to look for.

Natal Chart

The litterature in astrology on winning has grown up over the years and you will find many theories, especially on Indian sites on how to become rich and famous. It is true to say that some people are luckier than others but even among the poorest, there is always a 'moment of luck', when the stars get aligned for you. And I am grateful to the astrologers who got interested by this subject and have by their writings paved the way as well as investing their time and money: Joyce Wehrman, Emily Faugno, Sophia Mason, Donald Brady and many others in cosmobiology (Ebertin) and Uranian astrology (Witte). Midpoints are key in looking at your potential for winning.
The lineage goes back to Kepler who developed in the Renaissance the harmonic analysis from the classical origins of Pythagoras and Plato.

Story: One day, I won a jackpot 20 minutes before a winning time I had planned. I was befuddled, even more so because Neptune was right on the MC. That's when I realized that winning did not always show up around the AS, MC or the midpoint A/M but by looking at the midpoint AS/planet or MC/planet.

Let's start with something simple, every astrologer will relate to. A transit with a chart example, Bill Shoemaker.
Image

Bill Shoemaker Aug 19, 1931 1:30am Fabens, TX, USA – Rodden AA

“Put in a shoebox in the oven to stay warm at birth, Shoemaker survived, but remained small, growing to 4 feet 10 inches (1.47 m) and weighing 91 pounds (41 kg). His diminutive size proved an asset as he went on to become a giant in thoroughbred horse racing.
He totalled 8,833 career victories. At the age of 19, he was making so much money (as much as $2,500 each week) the Los Angeles Superior Court appointed attorney Horace Hahn as his guardian, with the consent of his parents. After retirement, April 8, 1991, in San Dimas, California, he rolled over the Ford Bronco II he was driving. The accident left him paralyzed from the neck down, and he thereafter used a wheelchair. Shoemaker sued Ford Motor Company, and Ford settled with Shoemaker for US $1,000,000.
Shoemaker authored three murder mysteries. They were often compared to the large stable of best-selling horse mysteries by fellow jockey/author Dick Francis. Shoemaker's Stalking Horse (1994), Fire Horse (1995), and Dark Horse (1996) all featured jockey-turned-sleuth Coley Killebrew using his racetrack experience in and about his restaurant and the horse world.
Shoemaker died on October 12, 2003, of natural causes at his home in San Marino, California. He was 72 years old.??? (Wikipedia)

When you look at his midpoints, you will see that he has 4 degree areas filled in with strong midpoints. By strong, I mean planets in conjunction on the 45d Wheel or lucky combinations.

What we find here is how you can use a transit for winning.
1) Uranus R at 21 Sag 48 (36d48 ) is sesqui-quadrate natal Jupiter 7 Leo 17 (37 17) = sudden luck, surprising victory.
2) Very important here. The AS is the near surrounding, the MC is the minute, the moment. As the transiting Uranus is in the midpoint Sa/Ne, you want to avoid putting it Angular. But you can use the transiting UR/MC and UR/AS over transiting and natal midpoints. They act like a scan over the natal midpoints and the midpoints involving the AS and MC travel about 7 degrees every hour.
Shoemaker has these 2 points going over his natal MC/PF, Ur/MC, Su/Mo and AS.
3) Look at the natal planet aspected, here Jupiter and look at the midpoint transiting AS/natal Jupiter and transiting MC/natal Jupiter.
AS - Shoemaker has natal JU at 7 Leo 17 and the transiting AS is at 12 Lib 10. The midpoint falls at 9 Vir 43 over his natal MA/JU (direct midpoint).
MC – Natal JU at 7 Leo 17 and transiting MC at 13 Can 49. The midpoint falls at 15 Can 33 over transiting Su/Mo – Ju/PF – MA and natal Ma/Ur – Su/Ne – Ma/Pl
4) We also note the Moon in Pisces just separating from transiting Jupiter and applying to his natal MC (17 min), another good indicator. The MC is often represented in winning as it is regulated by states and governments laws.

In resume, Shoemaker won for 3 reasons.
First, transiting Uranus was activating his natal Jupiter by sesqui-quadrate.
Second, the transiting MC/UR and AS/UR were transiting over a lucky area in his midpoint structure.
Third, the transiting Moon last over transiting Jupiter and right on his natal MC.
The first 2 are enough to win.

Story: As you will discover, not all transits to your natal midpoints will end up into a win. I once tested my natal Su/Ma midpoint with a transiting Mo/Ve conjunction. I went to a bar where they had slot machines and as soon as I arrived, 3 beautiful women came to me, one offering me a place to sit, the 2nd one something to drink and the 3rd one something to eat. My Su/Ma (male ego) was being pampered but not the best formula for winning! Spending oh yes! Hint: start by looking at transits to your natal Jupiter.

  • * Lucky midpoints of planets in hard aspect (conjunction, opposition, square, semi-square and sesqui-quadrate) are stronger.
    * Use the transiting and natal planet aspected in combination with the transiting and natal AS and MC. The transiting planet becomes a 'handle' activating your chart.
    * A midpoint containing a planet is stronger.
    * Use tight orbs – For a transit, it is within 30 minutes of exactness but I prefer 15 minutes and exact is even better.
    * If you use midpoints that are not with Jupiter, natal or transiting, try to have transiting JU/AS and or JU/MC over this position.
    * Always look at the Moon and see what it does.
    * A direct midpoint works best.
    * As planets follow a daily rotation cycle, try to put them Angular, transiting or natal.
When you look at your lucky midpoints, you will sometimes find a Saturn or Neptune midpoint at the same place. They are hurdles in winning but since I use a very tight orb, they can be overcomed. JU/SA and JU/NE midpoint will not hurt you. The most difficult ones to avoid are MA/SA, MA/NE, SA/NE, SA/PL.

I shall explain in another post other and better ways to deal with midpoints and how all aspects are working but for now, I wanted to talk about a single transit by hard aspect and making the best out of it.

The Aspects

When I work with midpoints, I pay attention to the relationships of the planets. No need to be concerned with sign rulerships, dignities or detriments.
That is the spirit behind midpoints.
Witte used to tell his students to carry a notebook and write down the time that events happened in their life and from this, he wrote about specific events, very down-to-earth life events.

There is always an angular distance between 2 planets and as such this is an aspect between the 2 planets.

Planetary pictures can be looked at as equal sums (a+b), half sums (a+b)/2, differences (a-b) or sensitive points (a+b-c). My research focus mainly on half sums or midpoints and sensitive points, what traditional astrology calls Lots. And I am sure there is more to discover on the equal sums and differences.
I don't have all the answers (a lot of my research was hand-made as I did not find a program that was giving me what I was looking for). For a long time, I did not include the Transneptunians as I first studied Cosmobiology, which may account for charts unexplained in my database.
In the intro to the Rules of Planetary Pictures (2020 ed.) Michael Feist says 'It is therefore hardly surprising that the 90d disc became the most popular working tool in Uranian Astrology. However, it must be emphasized that the 90d disc should only be used as a supplement to the 360d disc.'
The 90d disc will show the conjunctions, oppositions and squares in a chart. And these were the first aspects I looked at when I started my research.

Another area of investigation was which dial to choose. 180, 90, 45, 22.5? I settled to the 45 Dial because of the 'breathing' you get between the planets. And also my chart has a lot of conjunctions and semi-squares and at one point everything is jammed packed around the same degrees. But I know the 22.5 works as well. Simply put, if I see a strong position in the 45, I will check the 22.5 to add up another layer of strength.

When we look at a transit to our natal chart, our attention is drawned to a particular point of our chart. But it does not mean that other planets stop functioning or lay dormant.
If you have transiting Venus coming to conjunct your natal Jupiter, all transiting Venus and natal Jupiter midpoints will be activated.

3 combinations of midpoints can be investigated.

Ptolemaic aspects

As astrologers, we learn to look at the Ptolemaic aspects in our chart and we base our interpretation from many related interpretations (signs, dignities etc).
Another way to look at it is by looking at the midpoint of the aspect.
Let's look at the ptolemaic aspects of Jupiter in the chart of Bill Shoemaker and let's figure out that a transit is happening to Jupiter.

His natal Jupiter is at 7 Leo 17 (Interpretations given from Witte and Ebertin)
** Waxing sextile is 7 Lib 17 – the midpoint is at 7 Vir 17 (22°17 on the 45d Wheel)
At 22°17 on the wheel, he has Su/Me (Sound thinking, body move, news of the day) and Ju/No (Fortunate connections). This sounds great natally. If you add the layer of the transiting midpoints, you get something extra to work with. Is it in the transiting midpoint MA/SA, in which case the news of the day might not be so good or SU/JU (fortunate day, pay day).
** Waxing square is 7 Sco 17 – the midpoint is at 22 Vir 17 (37°17 on the 45d Wheel)
He has Ju = Su/Ur (Luck through sudden decisions or events). Not bad for a square! Even better because of the square I would say.
** Waxing trine is 7 Sag 17 – the midpoint is at 7 Lib 17 (7°17 on the 45d Wheel).
Ma/AS = No (To be called upon, to be asked). If he was waiting for a phone call from an owner to drive a horse, I would say this trine is a good asset for him. A lucky break.
** Opposition is 7 Aqu 17 – the midpoint is at 7 Aqu 17 ( 37°17 on the 45d Wheel). Same as the waxing square.
And so on for the waning phase and all other planets, AS, MC or other points in your chart.

Pay special attention when you have the ASC, MC or a midpoint combination with the ASC or MC as this aspect in your chart will be more important than others. In his chart, Shoemaker has Moon squaring Jupiter (Luck in public life) and it falls in his A/M midpoint.

Non-Ptolemaic aspects

Looking at the angular distance between 2 planets in a tight orb, you will find a lot of non-ptolemaic aspects.
Even those you consider as Ptolemaic can be viewed differently. For example an applying trine of 112°30' is a Quintaquartisquare. (5 X 22°30')
Philip Graves has a comprehensive list of angular distance measures here.
https://pdfcoffee.com/aspects-astrology ... -free.html

Early in my research, I found out that comparing a transiting midpoint to a natal midpoint was not enough to explain winning times. It was part of the solution.

Sensitive points

I started focusing on the sensitive points of my chart that are not showing up with regular transits, which is a 3rd element filling in the gap between 2 planets in my chart and creating a midpoint structure.

Let's take an example with the chart of Shoemaker.
Shoemaker has Jupiter at 7Leo17 and the Sun at 25Leo24 . A difference of 18°07. If you add this difference to his Sun, you get 13Vir31. A transit at 13Vir31 will create a midpoint structure Transit/JU = SU. Should the structure be tJU/JU = SU, that is very lucky.

This way I was able to label every degree of the zodiac in relationship to my natal planets and lucky midpoints. And I did it in 360° and 180°(direct midpoints), 90° 45° and 22°30' wheel.
If you look a a dial, you can also find out visually if a transiting planet is forming a midpoint structure to your natal chart. But since I use very tight orbs, I wanted to know the partile position.

Double Transits

Sometimes you have a 2 transits happening around the same time with your natal planets. The midpoint becomes prominent. And this can happen over a few days with a slower planet transit or if a planet stations.

But the most powerful ones are found by looking at an aspectarian. Especially the hard aspects. You see a Sun/Mars square and the midpoint happens to fall into one of your lucky midpoint. This is a green signal. In this type of configuration, you get 2 planets aspecting 2 natal planets creating a square interaction. Focus on your Jupiter midpoints. I have not reached a conclusion yet on Zeus, Kronos, Apollon and Vulcanus as I am working to incorporate one at a time.

I shall explain in the next post how midpoints get activated by the Houses. Election timing.
Blessings!

Being on the Wheel

The AS, MC, A/M, anyplanet/AS, anyplanet/MC, Placidus intermediate House cusps and Fortuna are what will manifest the energy of the planets.
Because there are so many possible combinations, your creativity will be needed here.

In search of which House system to use for the intermediate Houses, I listed about 10 different House systems with the software Riyal for Windows by Juan Antonio Revilla and the discrepancies between Koch and Placidus at my location were about 4 degrees, which is 15 minutes of time. Placidus showed up consistantly, closer to winning times. And Topocentric which is within 1 degree to Placidus. And I am not saying that other House systems are not valid but for winning you need Placidus or Topocentric.

And I will repeat it here. My system is not perfect, it needs tweeking and also some additional tools in order to fully understand the aspects in action in a timeline order.

Angular Houses

For a position to be activated, you want to favor the Angular houses especially the MC.
As planets rise, set, culminate and anti-culminate during the day, they represent the places where they are 'accidentally' dignified.

1) Put the ASC, MC or A/M in the midpoint (direct conjunction or opposition).
2) Better if the natal or transiting planets involved are also Angular at the same time.
3) Look up for AS/anyplanet or MC/anyplanet transiting over the lucky midpoint position.
If you have a natal planet activated by transit by conjunction, opposition or square, use that 'anyplanet' combination over the others. Or the planets involved in the midpoints.
Image

To better track the sensitive points and activations by the Houses, I came up with an Excel spreadsheet using in Excel the function Data >Define range
In the first row, you define the planets and the points in your chart. (Sol, Lun, Mer etc)
Then you set the range with the formula =SUM(Name that you have defined;cell range in the first colum with the degrees running from A3 to A362 (A3 being 0 degree) to cover all 360 degrees of the zodiac)/2
Example - The formula for the Sun is =SUM(SOL;A5)/2
/2 gives you the direct midpoints (conjunction, opposition)
/4 adds the squares
/8 adds the semi-squares and sesqui-quadrates
/16 adds the octiles

If you enter the degree position in row #2 for the transit of the day, you have the time when natal planets will be in a midpoint structure with the transiting planets.
Column A labeled DEG with the natal planets position in row#2
Looking at the DEG position 77, you see that when the ASC comes at 17 Gem, the SU/AS intersects Pluto at 21 Can 21 in the chart of Shoemaker, creating SU/AS = PL

The column A DEG can be the transiting ASC, MC or a planet transiting this degree.
I used a planet as an example but this could also be a lucky midpoint. And the degrees will be automatically updated by changing the position in row #2.
Story: I also discovered with my spreadsheet that it can be used in synastry – For example, 184°00' of Libra intersecting with my natal Sun = my natal Venus. I do not have anything aspecting my chart from 4 Libra. This looks like a Composite Chart where you find the midpoint SU/SU, MO/MO, ME/ME etc in both partners. But the difference is that any planet at this degree creates a midpoint with my Sun = my Venus. This explained my lover when I was at the University who was an early Libra, studying in Arts with her father being a museum curator. The combinations are endless to investigate, someone's Saturn/my natal Sun = my natal VE. Or another one's Venus at 4 Libra/my natal SU = my natal VE... and the aspects to this midpoint.
Simply scroll down the degree area for anyone's planets or Angles and look up what midpoints or planets it touches in your chart. More can be said on comparing 2 charts like this.
A/M

This midpoint can reveal some interesting activations more so if you have some Parans in your chart. In my chart, I have a Paran Sun/Moon-Saturn. If a lucky transit touches this midpoint, there is a potential activation when both planets become Angular.

Fortuna

I also use the Part of Fortune as I have found it to be relevant in winning.
And I treat it like a House cusp, activating something in your chart.
More research is needed on other parts especially the Part of Victory (Jupiter)

Orb

In search of the orb for the most powerful (a double transit in hard aspect to a natal midpoint), I have tried 0°10' applying and it does not work. 0°05' is good, 0°03' is better, Exact is a Go Go Go.
For a transit to a natal planet, since double transits are favored, in the range of 1°00' where you adjust it to the midpoint within 0°05'

1. Single Transit to natal planet
They start to come into play within 1 degree. 0°30' is better. Closer even better.
2. Double Transit (midpoint) to natal planet 0°05'
2 planets in the range of a hard aspect to a natal planet can be within 1 degree
but you adjust the midpoint to 0°05'
3. Single Transit to natal midpoint 0°05'
This one does not work all the time. Let's say you have the SU over your MA/JU midpoint. If at the same time, you have a SU midpoint over MA or JU then yes.
4. Double Transit (midpoint) to natal midpoint 0°05'
My favorite. 2 planets in hard aspect (the midpoint) activating a lucky placement.

For the transiting Houses or anyplanet/AS or anyplanet/MC - 2 degrees orb

In all cases, you want to put the planets, if not all of them at least one of them, Angular. Direct at the AS or MC or A/M.

Compass and Direction

I have a compass on my cell phone and when choosing a direction to win, I will go where a lucky placement is posited by sign, always looking for Jupiter in most cases.
Remember that the Sign shows the direction to go from your house and the House placement of the planet, the direction to go once you arrive on site.
1st – East
2nd – E-N-E
3rd - N-N-E
4th – North
5th - N-N-W
6th - W-N-W
7th – West
8th - W-S-W
9th - S-S-E
MC – South
11th - S-S-E
12th - E-S-E

As I am reviewing my database, I will post some examples in the next post.
Blessings!

Here is an example of a win in 2008 when I began my journey working with midpoints.
This win contains several elements which were aligned together. And I kept the planets involved for clarity.

MC transit at 6 Pis 27
Transiting midpoint SU/JU on the MC at 6 Pis 36 - SU squares JU.
Natal Moon/Jupiter midpoint is at 6 Vir 39 - Orb 3' and Direct
Transiting Jupiter on the cusp of the 8th -
Natal Jupiter rising
PF near the cusp of my 2nd House

Story:
I had a day off from work and I went to a place where they had slot machines.
When I arrived, there was only 1 machine left to play. Heaven had chosen for me. And the machine was located W-S-W the 8th House where transiting Jupiter was.
Jackpot on the machine was $500. I sat down and within about 5 minutes, I won 3 jackpots in a row with some extras on free spins. A feast no one would believe.
I also have the natal JU/SA midpoint with my MO/JU midpoint.
Alfred Witte says of JU/SA 'Separation from happiness or happy separation'. What happened is that I was convinced that the machine was defective, took the money and ran away from the bar before any clerk ordered a reset on the machine and cancelled my gain.
What I learned from this midpoint when it is activated is take the money and run. Stop.

Here is another predictive technique I have used - the Diurnal
On one's birthday, the diurnal ASC is exactly the same as in the natal chart.
From that point on it will progress approximately 1 degree every day and the planets will move around the zodiac.
I studied this technique from the book of Sophia Mason 'The Art of Forecasting using Diurnal Charts'.

Setup in Planetdance:
- Take your natal chart - Rename it to Diurnal
- Horoscope > Edit
- In the UT box, you have 4 choices Timezone, UT, Local Time and Other. Choose Other.
- Enter the difference in hours with Greenwich
For example, I was born EDT (-4h) I entered -4h
If you were born EST, you would enter (-5h)
Save
Look up for the day/month/year to see your Diurnal
-----------------
In 2019, Jupiter in Sag was right on my natal Fortuna at 17 Sag right on the cusp of my diurnal 5th House (Topocentric) and the Moon transiting my 8th House in the Aspectarian was making a trine to Jupiter. I won a good amount at the casino when the transiting 5th House of the chart above came within 2 degrees of Transiting Jupiter/ Natal Fortuna/Topocentric Diurnal 5th House

When looking at diurnals, I keep it simple - 3 things
1) A planet natal or transiting has to be on the cusp of a House within 1 degree (Topocentric - Placidus is fine also but as I am reviewing my database, Topocentric seems to be closer).
Clarification: A planet in a money house is enough to activate your chart but if you happen to have it on the cusp of a house like in this example, you are actually looking at an event chart and you can play it at that time. It happens sometimes that when you draw a diurnal, there is an aspect partile. This is the moment to play or buy a lottery ticket. In this example, JU rules natal and diurnal 8th on the cusp of the diurnal 5th.
2) The planet receives an aspect from another planet within 1 degree. The Moon is often the trigger.
The 2nd point here is important because if you have for example natal Jupiter on the cusp of the diurnal 5th House but Jupiter receives no aspect during the day, this is counterproductive. I use the Ptolemaic aspects but I have had some results also with the Antiscia.
Clarification: For better results, reduce the orb to 30' instead of 1 degree. Payouts are better when closer.
3) Another point with this method as sometimes it can extend for several hours. Put one planet or both crossing a transiting Succedent House cusp if possible for the planet will become Angular after and I have seen it as the influence of the aspect increasing. Slow down or quit when the planet becomes Cadent. Basically, you play on 2 things: the closeness of the aspect and the Angular positions.

Diurnals are changing at the time you were born every day and in the example above, the Diurnal change and the event chart were matching together.

This one was in 2017
The chart is cast for my first win, shortly after 6pm

Diurnal ASC in Gem, ruler Mercury sextile Moon on the cusp of the diurnal 2nd House early in the evening in trine to my natal Moon. Several ingredients coming together.

Since the Moon was making a trine to my natal Moon, I looked up for the path of
MO/AS (travelling over my VE-PL-AS)
MO/MC (travelling in my stellium in Cancer)
And the transiting midpoints and planets supporting the natal.
Within 1 hour, I won 4 jackpots. In bold, transiting planets Angular

1) t MO/MC = t MO/SU = n MC/PL with t SU on the cusp of the 7thH
2) t MO/MC = n JU (Very good over natal JU but JU had fallen in the 9th House, reducing the jackpot price. All other wins were better with at least one planet of the midpoint Angular)
3) t MO/JU = t MO/AS = n ME and t MO/AS = n SU with t JU on the ASC.
4) t MO/UR = t MO/AS = t SU = n SU/JU with t UR 7thH
-----------------------------------
Image
For clarity, here is the Diurnal for the day.
As you can see, on my birth hour Apr 2nd 2017, the Moon was at 26 Gem 51 and Mercury is at 1 Tau 43. Both planets will make a sextile during the day when the Moon transit the Diurnal 2nd House cusp in trine to my natal Moon.
The Moon will progress during the day to reach the Diurnal 2nd House around 6pm and Mercury will have advanced in the orb of the diurnal 2nd House.
Mercury rules my diurnal ASC
Moon rules my diurnal 2nd House
A perfect match!
One can also say that Mercury is making an opposition to my natal Moon but the triangular formation with the transiting Moon will not hurt.

Diurnal
I am Virgo rising this month and tJU from the diurnal 8th sends a sextile to nJU(Lord n8th) conjunct nME(Lord n2nd) in the diurnal 10thH. The problem is that the aspect is not connected to a Diurnal House cusp. Or is it? Yes
tSU-VE in Leo applies by sextile during the day to the diurnal 2ndH cusp - by trine to the diurnal 8thH cusp and by Antiscia to tJU
Bingo!

Midpoints
SU conjunct VE Antiscia JU, sesquidrate UR and PL, semi-squares MA
So, transiting planets in hard aspects connecting with lucky midpoints in my chart
SU/VE = MA/JU (Fortunate accomplishment in a peaceful environment)
VE/UR - VE/MA and SU/PL= VE/MA (I socialized a lot with people around me!)

I cashed in 26 tickets including 5 jackpots.
I am not going to go over all the AS - MC - A/M and Planets/MC or Planets/AS combinations that hit these midpoints but at one point, when the Moon made a square to Jupiter, it was bar open and just enjoy!
Two things I want to point out.
1) When a midpoint is activated, the crossing on the Angles of an element of the midpoint is enough to win. And also the sensitive point nJU/tJU becomes an extra point to play with.
2) My best hits were when the transiting midpoints came close to exactness.

---------------
Working with midpoints is very chirurgical. I wish I had a program to search exactly for what I am looking for. But my system is not perfect with many unanswerd questions and other astrologers would explain it differently.
I remember there were times when I won and I was unhappy... because I did not know why. More so than expecting a win and loosing. But astrology is what saved me.

“Fear has only two causes: the thought of losing what you have or the thought of not getting what you want.??? ― Byron Katie

By focusing on what I have learned instead of negative self-talk, I know that everything in the universe can be approached and understood, within our own limits. Does astrology work? Of course it does and there are times when you need to be pragmatic with it, with yourself. With others, let them decide what they want and listen to their stories.

The stars are all there in front of us, no need to argue with them, just to recognize what is really happening.

This diurnal is interesting because it involves a 'sensitive point' in my chart at 25 Aqu
When a planet is transiting 25 Aqu, it forms a midpoint
Natal MO = 25 Aqu (here Jupiter)/natal JU
Furthermore, my natal VE is exactly opposite the transiting planet at 25 Aqu and it is reinforced by JU being Retrograde.
Natally I have MO=VE/JU exact (Hour of raptured happiness) and the Moon will transit this point later in the day when it enters Leo.

dMC = nSU sextile UR from the diurnal 8th (money from the government)
FOR = nAS
MA cusp of my natal 2nd House and ruling my diurnal 2nd House. Natally, Mars is on the cusp of my 5th House.
dAS in Libra in my n2nd House semi-sextile tSU from my natal 1st (I would not play on this only but the semi-sextile as the qualities to allow or encourage; compensations, acquisitions, resources, growth)

32 wins including 5 jackpots
Biggest win when the MC came in the midpoint tMA/tJU with JU rising.
MA on the cusp of my 2nd House and tJU forming the midpoint MO=nJU/tJU

Here is the diurnal of May 3, 1986 when Shoemaker won the Kentucky Derby.

He is Aquarius rising with the diurnal AS making a sextile to its ruler Uranus in the 10th House.
And this Uranus is receiving a sesqui-quadrate from natal Jupiter in his natal 2nd House.
Transiting JU is in the diurnal 1st approaching the natal MC and the MO is making a translation from JU to his MC.
JU is ruling his diurnal MC and 11th

Another thing is that both MO and JU are intercepted in the diurnal AS and the MO ruling the diurnal 6th and natal AS. He is winning as an employee. Most of the money goes to the owner of the horse, but the jockey receives a percentage of the purse, as well as a riding fee, place fee, and salary if they are retained by one owner. The better the performance of the horse, the more a jockey can earn from a race. According to the Covington Reporter, a jockey gets about 10% for a first-place.

Lottery tickets
-----------------------
I have not tested so much buying lottery tickets but here is an example (not the best example!) of what to look for.
You want to connect your 2nd/8th House axis with your 10th House as this is a government payout.

Here is my diurnal in May 2019.
Mercury ruler of my natal 2nd House transiting my MC and sextiling my diurnal AS in Cancer.
Here Mercury is not close enough to my MC, 1 degree is acceptable, closer is better and the diurnal AS is a little bit wide also, as Mercury is past the sextile to the diurnal AS.
This Mercury is forming a grand Trine with Pluto and my 2nd House cusp.

I bought a ticket later in the day when Mercury was conjunct the transiting 8th House cusp.
On a 6/49 draw, I got 4 numbers out of 6.

But you get the idea. Many combinations are possible and you can use your own creativity. At least you are not going to throw your money through the window.

Here is another diurnal in Feb 2013

This one is clear as it can get.
- Transiting JU in my diurnal 2/natal 10 sextile MO ruling and in the diurnal 5th. And the MO is Antiscia my natal MC
- I am Aries rising this month and MA ruling my diurnal AS and 8th sends a trine to my natal SU
- Saturn ruling my diurnal MC of government sends a trine to my natal ME ruling my AS and 2nd House
- And last but not least the diurnal 2nd House is right on my natal MC.
------------------
Midpoints
MO/JU = natal JU later
SU squares JU and the midpoint right on my MO/JU midpoint
VE/JU = natal ME/UR

12 wins including 4 jackpots.
