2023 Turkey–Syria Earthquakes


On 6 February 2023, two powerful earthquakes struck southern and central Turkey. The first occurred west of the city of Gaziantep at 04:17 TRT (01:17 UTC), causing widespread damage in Turkey and Syria. With a maximum Mercalli intensity of IX (Violent) and a magnitude of Mww 7.8, the first earthquake is tied with the 1939 Erzincan earthquake as the strongest to hit Turkey in recorded history.

As we see here between radix sun and radix SA/KR are not quite exact. The difference 10 seconds.

HAARP Attack

Speculations about HAARP triggering the massive earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have surfaced on social media. The 7.8-magnitude quake earthquakes have left more than 3,800 people dead and thousands injured.

Though he now lives in Germany, Linchi was born in Gaziantep, Turkey, near the epicenter of Monday's devastating quakes. Our prayers go out to citizens and refugees living in Turkey and Syria. The most recent report for today noted over 4000 fatalities but many more injuries.

The death toll for this quake and aftershocks has now reached 12,000. I am replacing my original chart here, correctly timed.

Astrologers are often surprised that charts for major events aren't as dramatic as expected. The Krishnamurti sidereal chart for the 7.8 quake in Gaziantep has a critical degree on the ascendant, 8 minutes into Sagittarius, and Neptune at the nadir in another critical degree at 29 Aqu 40, just ready to enter Pisces. (My research has isolated the early minutes of sidereal signs as markers for trauma, illness and difficulties.)



Considering only angularity, Neptune, the traditional mythological earth shaker, can be seen as the primary signature for the quake. The critical degrees of the Ascendant and Neptune exist only in the sidereal zodiac. Astrologers can find additional quake indicators in the chart, and the Capricorn ingress on 14 January throws additional light on these distressing quakes.

For researchers of the stars, Markab in Pegasus is located at 29 Aqu 43, three minutes from Neptune's position. Ptolemy said that Markab was of the nature of Mars and Mercury, but we actually know very little about the influence of individual stars. Laseth in the Scorpion's sting is a few minutes from the Ascendant at 15 minutes of Sagittarius. Laseth has been linked to danger, desperation and malevolence (Anne Wright's web site).

Linchi, Solar Fire has given a completely different time for the Capricorn ingress than is noted on your charts for Gaziantep: 14 Jan 2023, 2:38:12 PM (14:38:12) EET -2:00.

Yes, Solar Fire notes a two hour difference rather than three. My old version of Solar Fire is wrong then for Turkey.

Our electric power switched off as I was typing this post. Power has been out all day, so I wasn't able to correct my post above. I will be making the corrections this evening or tomorrow.

Actually, EET is 2 hours ahead of GMT/UT. But Gaziantep is on Turkey time (TRT), which is 3 hours ahead. Solar Fire (at least v. 9) gets the time difference right but calls the time zone EEDT.

Yesterday I found the same as Martin did.

Do the chart for the occurrence using GMT then do the chart for the same location using GMT plus 3 hours.

The charts should be the same but they are not. Check the MC's and Moon's positions. The only way to get the locality data chart to match the GMT chart is to use GMT plus 2 hours for time and locate it to the EET timezone.

I have finally corrected the 7.8 Turkey quake in my post above. The correct chart has Mars on the descendant on the Aldebaran/Antares axis which does seem to describe the severity of the quake along with Neptune at the IC. Using Solar Fire's Baghdad time of a three hour adjustment from GMT gave the correct chart, double checked on Astrodienst.

Hi Therese: Thanks for reposting the corrected chart but I believe the time in your posted chart of 3:17:37 is not correct. The GMT time of the first quake was 0117 GMT, or 4:17 local TRT time in the news reports I have seen. So, your chart is off by one hour. Baghdad, or AST is indeed +3 hours from GMT and matches TRT, but the time you are using for the quake is wrong.

Someone please correct me if I am in error.

Using Krishnamurti ayanamsa in Solar Fire the rising degree should be 29Sc59, or Tropical 24Sg04.
