Mars managing the Lights 1 by Lunlumo Except the Sun and the Moon every planetrules two signs, has to "manage" them. Now, what about the Sun in Scorpio, the Moon in Aries - and Mars in Virgo ? On the one side Mars has to manage, on the other side, in a way, Mars has to be a good host - but "nobody can serve two masters" (Math. 6.24) - So, quite a strain is put on Mars - right? (In the chart I'm refering to the Moon rules the AC, is in house 10, the Sun in house 5 - whole sign houses - but I think the question might be of general interest...) I don't perceive this situation as unduly straining Mars. Is this related to a specific doctrine? Managing the lights sounds like something Lilly would talk about, or maybe a medieval technique. Mars is in aversion to the Moon, while it can still help it I think that the "dispositorship" of the Moon would default to a planet aspecting both the Moon and Mars which can mitigate the aversion. Could you post the chart please? Interesting question BTW Transire suum pectus mundoque potiri Quote Mon Sep 04, 2023 5:50 pm

Re: Mars managing the Lights 4 by kubernetes It appears that Mars in Virgo is receiving the Sun in Scorpio with an applying superior sextile but is in aversion to the Moon in Aries. Based on this alone I would say that Mars is more strongly affecting the Sun than the Moon, although it still influences both of them. From what I can see, there are no planets that can mitigate the aversion of the Moon in Aries to Mars in Virgo using an applying Ptolemaic aspect, however Mercury in Sagittarius would theoretically be able to fulfill this role through its whole sign aspects to both the Moon and Mars in spite of the aspects being widely separating. Personally, when it comes to mitigating aversions I never consider planets as a candidate for mitigating aversion if they don't have applying aspects (or very close separating ones) with both of the other planets, however this is just a personal preference and I haven't thoroughly tested out the alternative, so it's a possibility that whole sign aspects regardless of degree relationship could work. Re: Mars managing the Lights 5 by Lunlumo Thx for this - and well-observed! Indeed it's Mercury, though exiled can play this part - and acts like this. Mercury more or less successfully is able to bring together the Lights (mostly writing - articles, bokks...) Non coerceri maximo, contineri minimo divinum est. Quote Thu Sep 07, 2023 10:04 am

Mercury more or less successfully is able to bring together the Lights (mostly writing - articles, bokks...) I also observed that Mercury is more strongly mitigating the aversion between Jupiter in Aries and its dispositor Mars. Mercury itself is being received by its dispositor Jupiter. This is an interesting configuration that took a moment to think through but it was quite revealing: 1.Mars in Virgo is being received by Mercury. However, at first glance Mercury seems to be in middling condition due to its cadency. 2.Although Mercury in Sagittarius is cadent its dispositor Jupiter is angular in the WSH 10th house which helps mitigate its cadency. Mercury is also being received by Jupiter through a nearly partile inferior trine. So Mercury is actually much stronger than it initially appears. 3.Mercury has plenty of resources given to it by Jupiter which it can then provide to Mars in Virgo (Keep in mind that the Sun strongly benefits from the extra resources that Mars receives as well). 4.Mars then passes its own resources back to Mercury (albeit through a square aspect) which Mercury then forcefully relays to Jupiter through a superior trine providing it with resources from its dispositor Mars. It's a confusing chain of influence, but it appears quite powerful. The only negative thing I see in this configuration is that Mercury doesn't perfect its aspect to Mars before Mars leaves Virgo. IRL I don't know how much of an effect this has, but apparently this configuration has been working for you so far, so it can't be that bad. Re: Mars managing the Lights 7 by Lunlumo Thx again, glad I inserted that chart here. I've learnt a lot concerning Mercury! Traditional astrology can reveal so much more than I once thought.... Regards, LL Non coerceri maximo, contineri minimo divinum est. Quote Sat Sep 09, 2023 2:23 pm
