henry kissinger 1 by james_m henry kissinger passed away yesterday.. he lived to be 100.. i have heard that people who live close to this long attach some importance to the number 100 and living to be 100.. i only know one person who i can verify my previous comment with and he only lived to be 98 - my neighbour jack who passed away in 2019.. i am posting his chart in sidereal zodiac.. when you do this, it becomes interesting to consider the time of 530am and wonder if that is rounded off to the 1/2 hour or not.. see the source notes... the ascendant in sidereal is 0 gemini 18' which is why i wonder.. https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Kissinger,_Henry below is his natal chart for the data given at adb. mars rising, even in a diurnal birth chart would strike me as a strengthening force in terms of longevity.. perhaps pluto in the same general area would help too.. saturn in the 4th sign from the ascendant could also help towards the theme of longevity.. he was an important world figure and i wonder how others would see this and why astrologically? saturn in trine to the midheaven, while saturn in virgo is in a trine to mercury in the 12th area... saturn is also in a square with the rising pluto - so the hardship of war seems to have some relevance to his own chart, if one thinks of saturn-pluto having to do with war and hardship.. he certainly advocated for war as counsel to a number of usa presidents.. uranus conjunct the south node is interesting... not sure what to make of that.. aquarius is the 9th sign from gemini, if gemini is the rising sign.. this would fit with his participation in foreign policy objectives on the world stage and how he played an important role in shaping them whether in regards to usa's relationship with china, or etc. etc.. i don't know a huge amount about the man and mostly always thought of his as a warmonger and not much else.. the transits for the time of his death are shown in the chart below.. i used a morning time of 837am to his birth place, and obviously that is not correct, so the angles will be out and the moon may be out by a number of degrees depending on just when he died yesterday... i see i have different settings for the houses, then i usually have... this was from playing around on the morinus software prog... regardless, i like to use whole sign houses... saturn would be the ruler of the 8th for a gemini rising and jupiter would be the ruler of the 8th for a taurus rising.. one could say jupiter is the 8th sign to his taurus sun and if one thinks of death as having a connection to the 8th, this would also apply.. the first thing i was looking at was the transit of jupiter towards his natal venus.. maybe upiter is like a release from life and shows up in the charts of death in some way like this... pure speculation on my part when looking for the astrological basis for death.. saturn is applying to his sun in the 12th house and that might certainly do a person in, under the right circumstances - being 100 ought to suffice.. but perhaps the biggest transit connected to death is the south node at his natal moon... in indian astrology the 2nd house and the 7th house lords have bearing on the topic of death, so ketu on the moon is a letting go combo... and of course - all that i said about jupiter as a possible 8th ruler to the suns house anyway - is also the ruler of the 7th in a gemini rising chart.. that's about it for now... feel free to post any thoughts you have in tropical too, if you are inclined... cheers.. one more passing observation.. transit pluto about 150 the rising mars, with pluto in the 8th... i see marjorie has an article up on kissinger.. https://star4cast.com/henry-kissinger-p ... demnation/ Quote Thu Nov 30, 2023 5:14 pm
Re: henry kissinger 2 by Zosma Hi James On the theme of old age & Saturn . I have Saturn in Capricorn in the 4th sextile my Sun on desc So Saturn would be the first planet visible before sunrise on my DoB My father will be 99 on the 22 Jan I hope he makes it. I also have a very dignified Jupiter on the IC & I believe it is also Jupiter that gives him incredible spirit he seems to be able to regenerate himself he is an inspiration What I notice with Kissingers chart is the October eclipse occurred on his moon Saturn conjunction in Libra This being his profected first house So the south node transiting over his moon would give a more powerful significance Also looking to the protected 8th we have Taurus . Therefore Venus has special strength in his protected year as she rules 1st & 8th The eclipse happened in his prof 1st & Jupiter which in his natal sits in Scorpio so brings scorpionic energies transits over Venus in the profected 8 th. I'm curious as to what makes you wonder if Kissinger's time is off - do you think there's a possibility he has Taurus rising (sidereally)? Venus ruling the ASC? Personally, I see the fact that Kissinger served as National Security Advisor under Nixon and then as Secretary of State under both Nixon and Ford as fitting for someone with Gemini rising and Mercury essentially dignified but combust the Sun (Gemini being a double-bodied sign - TWO presidents fits that nicely, and his range of influence went well beyond that as he was welcomed and consulted by other leaders and future leaders throughout his life). There's no doubt he was a force to be reckoned with (Mars in 1 disposited by Mercury - in tropical or sidereal), and quite literally a "power behind the throne". Kissinger also had a degree in political science and spent much of his life writing, speaking, teaching, and consulting after leaving office. Another thing that came to mind is the often-cited national chart for the USA with 12° Sag rising (tropical). This puts Kissinger's Sun, Mercury, and Mars very near the US DESC (foreign relations) and Uranus; and also, gives his tropical Gemini planets a trine to the US Saturn exalted in Libra at the 10th (his own Moon and Saturn there in Libra, too) - fitting for a man who spent his life influencing US foreign policy and relations with an approach to diplomacy that assumed an international order was "legitimate" as long as the leaders of the world's most powerful countries agreed with it, regardless of what the people thought or what was considered "moral"; a very "exalted" and Saturnine way of approaching diplomacy, if you ask me. Then again, I always work with the tropical zodiac, so perhaps you can point me to things my bias might be overlooking. Respectfully, I do find it a little daunting to jump back and forth between sidereal and tropical in order to engage. Gives me a headache lol. It's one thing to discuss just planetary aspects, but for rulership purposes (among other things), the signs are crucial to delineation. Comparing charts is already a lot and then when we get into considering their relation to national charts, etc - it just gets to be a tangled web. But anyway, I'm adding Kissinger's radix chart here in tropical. It might make the discussion here more accessible for those who default to it. Re: henry kissinger 4 by janegca Hi all ... just to throw another chart into the pile; I use Zain's Gemini Rising chart for the US and there are a number of strong contacts with Kissinger's; most notably his Mercury Asc ruler on the US Asc while his Sun is conjunct in the 12th ... he did act as a US frontman for decades, screening those in power and letting them keep their real motivations secret. Kissinger-USA.png Viewed 5417 times 176.99 KiB His Saturn is on the US Saturn in the 5th of ambassadors trine the Moon (people) in the 10th which also holds his MC (profession) with Saturn ruling the US 9th (international trade) and 8th (cabinet) and Neptune (schemes) is in the 4th conjunct the IC. His Jupiter is also in the 6th (military) and Jupiter rules the US 7th (war)...which he worked assiduously to expand. ---------------------------- "I can calculate the motions of celestial bodies, but not the madness of people.” —- Sir Isaac Newton https://archive.org/details/@janegca Quote Fri Dec 01, 2023 12:43 pm
Re: henry kissinger 5 by james_m hi zosma i hope your dad makes it too.. it is interesting the reasons and motives people choose to continue to live, although perhaps there is a lot more to it then that.. i was thinking of the idea of astrological longevity indicators too and although i suspect there are any number of indicators, i imagine saturn is right up their as a symbol for old age.. having it in the 4th or 8th would seem to be one possibility for a long life.. charles munger - warren buffets long time partner has died at 99.. you might enjoy looking at his chart in this regard.. i would say his saturn plays an important role in his chart.. see marjorie orrs post from today - https://star4cast.com/charles-munger-op ... elf-doubt/ jason i am always suspect on what look like rounded off times - on the hour, or 1/2 hour for example.. however if the time is close the ascendant lies at the mercury-pluto midpoint.. of course like churchill with the opposition ( of mercury and pluto) - he would be privy to all sorts of information, not available to others, and maybe he had some good insights too... nixon had the opposition of mercury-pluto as well fwiw... this is the same pesky opposition that shows up on the popular charts for the usa too.. might be interesting to do a synastry chart for nixon and kissinger.. one ultimately was found guilty, and the other managed to avoid the same.. regarding the use of sidereal or tropical - it is much the same with the myriad choices of house systems too.. one has to appreciate the relativity of it all and try to grasp what insights they are willing to find acknowledging up front the relativity of it all.. - that is how i see it.. thanks for making a comparison to the usa sag chart.. there are some obvious connections which would explain some of the importance of his relationship to usa foreign policy objectives.. i read a few articles on him yesterday which others might wish to consider... thanks for your commentary! https://jacobin.com/2023/11/henry-kissi ... gn-policy/ https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/p ... 234804748/ janegca thanks janegca.. the connections to the gemini rising chart seem even more effective.. ------------------------------------ one interesting idea i picked up from reading those 2 articles is a comment about his relationship or views towards women which i was bringing back to the moon-saturn conjunction in his chart.. this same conjunction is also seem in the chart for charles munger on the link i shared for marjorie orrs site.. here is the quote from the link i shared from jacobin.com - "He also scorned women: “To me women are no more than a pastime, a hobby. Nobody devotes too much time to a hobby.” - is that reflected in the saturn-moon conjunction - what is a dismissal of women as nothing more then a pastime? maybe i am taking the quote too far, as i don't know much about the man.. but it got me to thinking astrologically on this as well.. perhaps this would reflect more widely to the idea of mass killing of innocent people in faraway countries - something that a number of leaders in the halls of power in the world seem to excel at.. Given that Venus in Taurus disposits the conjunction and is sitting in the 12th I wonder if he actually feared strong women, hence the need to diminish them. You've also got an exalted Saturn who only holds that position because Venus allows him too; curious emotional setup. A number of woman appeared to find him attractive; he has Uranus (magnetism) square his Asc and Mars (animal magnetism) conjunct the Asc, perhaps he thought the women were attracted by his power and not himself and resented them for it. At the very least, it would appear the women he was romantically (5th) involved with eventually became his enemies (Mercury L5 and Venus in the 12th of enemies), maybe that is why he deigned to scorn them; who knows. ---------------------------- "I can calculate the motions of celestial bodies, but not the madness of people.” —- Sir Isaac Newton https://archive.org/details/@janegca Quote Fri Dec 01, 2023 9:52 pm
Re: henry kissinger 7 by james_m hi janegca that is a very good observation regarding the moon in the 5th and etc.. let me ramble a bit before i get to what i really want to say.. i am inclined to think the gemini rising - sidereal or tropical is probably correct.. this is in support of the ascendant degree being close to the mercury-pluto midpoint i mentioned earlier.. now i use whole sign houses and one of the reasons i do is because i like the continuity that comes with them.. one of the other reasons is it maintains some ideas i have on aspect theory that i have come to appreciate.. i was reminded by ouranos of the fact cosmobiology don't generally use house systems with all they entail.. but the idea that aspects have a particular nature is relevant here.. the 5th and 9th are trine the ascendant ( just like kissingers moon to ascendant aspect).. i generally think the trine aspect is a playful and joyous one where the energies implied by the planets and angles involved can exchange with one another in a easy manner.. thus the idea of the fire signs sharing this with the other fire signs - all being trine one another - is a continuation of this basic idea.. and of course it applies to all the signs by element too fwiw.. in this case the moon in virgo sidereal would be ruled by mercury in taurus in the 12th... now what is interesting is that mercury and moon are associated with the mental sphere and said to say something about how a persons conscious and subconscious mind works.. i have found when these 2 planets are in hard aspect with one another, there is a conflict or disconnect mentally between the 2 spheres - conscious and subconscious. or between the intellectual verses the emotional awareness implied.. i've seen this especially in the square where the clash by sign is also very obvious... in kissingers chart it is a very close 135 aspect between the 2 planets - an 8th harmonic aspect which probably shows up as a conjunction or opposition ( i can't remember) in the 8th harmonic chart.. so the question for me is always is there a part of the chart that a person identifies with and another part they throw off? just based on the quote from the jacobim article, it would appear to support this idea.. perhaps kissinger was more content to live in his mercury then he was his natal moon position? if so, perhaps there are a few reasons for this astrologically - the moon-saturn conjunction being the most obvious one i can think of.. yes, sidereally using whole sign houses, moon on the last degree of virgo to a gemini ascendant is the 4th sign, but i continue to hold the importance of the idea that aspects are a powerful symbolic connection to the ideas of house systems too, so i have moon in the cusp of the 5th and fitting in with your observation on the moon in the 5th idea of someone who views women as a form of entertainment/hobby, but also of less importance... to me that sounds like an intellectual attitude negating the importance of emotions frankly.. i associate this with the hard aspect between mercury -moon... this makes me wonder about the mercury-moon midpoint here.. i see neptune is at the midpoint in a 67 and change degree aspect... this is again a hard aspect - 67 degree 30 minutes is half 135 (90 plus 45).. i will spare you want ebertin says about mercury-moon = neptune in his famous book combination of stellar influences, but you can 'imagine' lol.. just how much truth verses lies where a part of the thinking on usa foreign policy objectives when kissinger served as an important voice and influence on these choices would be hard to know. while i am at it, i note a fairly close 144 from moon to uranus too - that is a biquintile aspect which is said to denote talent of some sort.. again the circle divided by 5 is 72 and 144 is an extension of this... numbers do play a symbolic role in astrology and can be used a number of different ways! there is probably a lot more to the chart that is worth digging into.. thanks again for your comments which got me to thinking and looking at the chart more closely..
