Joe Biden's Stage 4 Prostate Cancer Diagnosis
Joe Biden’s diagnosis with Stage 4 prostate cancer was publicly announced on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
In an official statement from his office, it was revealed that the 82-year-old former U.S. president has been diagnosed with an aggressive but hormone-sensitive form of prostate cancer that has already metastasized to the bones.
The diagnosis followed the onset of urinary symptoms, which led to the discovery and biopsy of a nodule in the prostate.
The cancer was graded with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating a particularly aggressive form of the disease.
Although this stage of cancer is no longer considered curable, treatment options exist due to the tumor’s hormone sensitivity, aiming to slow progression and maintain quality of life.
